Volume 2:Nifty Little Little Shit

I always thought she was crying/laughing in the bathroom b/c she’s finally finished her shit between everyone and she’s so happy that she’s got her daughter.

I don’t think she was grieving for Bill and co at all - that single tear she had for him at his house was enough when she wiped it away and went, yep…my work here is done…(so to speak)

Plus, why would you grieve for someone who fuckin shot you! and before that, ordered ppl to kick the living snot out of you?

Think about it from her character’s point of view - you’re supposedly killed, in a coma for 4 yrs, you wake up to find no kid and you think, oh… she’s dead…here you are, on your rampage and suddenly out of the blue, your kid, healthy as can be, bopping around with dad is standing right there - I think that would be overwhelming enough for her to cry her eyes out in the bathroom - remember she was saying ‘thank you’, not "Oh Bill, I will miss you, I so wish you were alive…and so on"

There’s my two cents.

oh yeah…although this is in the wrong topic:

Where the hell does QT get off cancelling his two week tour to sunny, fun, relaxed Australia to meet me (One can dream) to go to freakin Cannes and multiple other places that the news has been telling me latley??? I thought he was “exhausted”

I think I’m just too used to the commercialised action movies where the hero and the badie fight it out till something cool kills the badie.

I did say “In my Western Ignorance…” lol

Yeah, I suppose thinking about it, a huge sword fight would be cool but bad.

To be honest the whole 6 (?) months I was in waiting for Vol 2, I couldn’t think of anything really amazing to kill Bill.

I think it was just that I was expecting that typical climax with a spectacular death/end…Which, for me would have been nice…I’m sorry!!! I still don’t like the 5 step stroll along the grass concept! (walks out mumbling and critiqueing…)

I’ll shut up now.

Go on with your business people…

This has probably been mentioned but I couldn’t be arsed read all the replies[/quote]

Someone said earlier that Elle likes to use poisons to kill in the movies. It’s like she is making up for her shortcomings trying to be like the other DiVAS.

I agree that Elle is just a wannabe, badass as she may be. The way she unsheathed her sword only to hit the ceiling and wall, and when Budd ran the blender over her dialogue. She can’t be as cool or deadly as the rest of them; the movie won’t let her.

I thought Elle was quite cool actually. She was the coolest after Bill and Budd! the way she walked to Budd’s trailer was so cool and the way she was reading that Black mamba thing from her note book was incredibly cool!! The way she talks and acts is also cool, the way she said “She must suffer to her last breath” was so cool and i doubt anybody was in the same room as her when she said that so i doubt she is ‘trying’ to be cool unless she is trying to convince herself she is cool!

She may not be on the same level as the other vipers in that she aint that deadly and she may be jealous of Beatrix and may just be puting on a face to show others how badass she is etc, but she is still cool. She was way cooler than Vernita or O-ren!! I feel kinda sorry for her now, it doesnt seem like she has any friends and she just probably got it together with Bill to show the others of her ‘place’ in the assasination squad to show that she is more than just an assasin. She probably hated being ‘second’ to Beatrix and so when Bea ran away, it was Elle’s chance to ‘take her place’. Just a theory !!

What’s your point?

Did you not read the post? i’m saying that Elle was cool, and the fact that she couldnt unsheath her sword doesn’t mean she is a wannabe or not-cool!

what IS cool anyway

our signatures are cool. too bad they ain’t fuckin workin

Cool is Samuel L Jackson or Michael Madsen! Cool is being laid back and just chilling out! Cool is not worrying all the time and just playing it safe! Cool is Pulp Fiction and Reservoir dogs and Jackie Brown and Kill Bill !! 8) (Sorry, I dunno whats up with me today)

"I thought Elle was quite cool actually. She was the coolest after Bill and Budd!"

Hmmm. That’s odd. I can agree with you on the fact that Budd was a relatively cool character (although he did resemble the stereotypical “American Redneck” a bit much), and want to agree with you as to the fact Bill was a cool, appealing character, but I have a slight problem: Bill was built up to be one bad-ass assassin, but in the end, he succumed to Beatrix without much of a fight.

I spent nearly two hours of my life squirming away in a theater chair two sizes too small for my rear waiting to see Bill and the Bride square off in their Sunday Best (as in the script…can you recall Bea in her bridal gown and Bill in his tuxedo???), and all I get is this watered down excuse for a confrontation. Sure, all of the jibber-jabber was fine and dandy, but sheesh, I was really hoping to see some awesome swordplay…on a beautiful beach, no less.

Ugh. I guess I’m too hard to please. Then again, in a way, we all are…

Okay, but it was a pointless post.

I’m saying she’s not as effective or deadly AS AN ASSASSIN as the rest of them. O-Ren wouldn’t make the mistake of unsheathing a sword and hitting the ceiling; in fact she can decapitate somebody in the same unsheathing motion. Debating about who is cooler is just retarded.

Well you started it by saying she can’t be as cool or deadly as the rest of them!!! So im putting across my opinion that Elle was cool and even more so then some of the others! Thats what all of these are, opinions. How would you know that O-Ren wouldnt make the same mistake?? Anyways lets stop this now its getting pretty sad. You have your opinions and I have mine!

I wasn’t expecting somebody to gauge the coolness of the other assassins.  All I mean is the movie’s universe is working against her because she’s backstabbing, dishonorable, dishonest, and cruel. Whether you think she’s cool or not is irrelevant.

Well then, thats what you should have wrote in the first place and not mentioned whether she is as cool as the rest of them if you didn’t want somebody to gauge the coolness of the assasins! You made the point first about being cool and so i commented on that fact!!

God you’re dense.

Fair enough.

Don’t worry Ify, I know what you mean. ;D

Elle possesses that hard-to-describe ‘cool’ factor. I’d pin it down to confidence, or even better, cockyness on Elle’s part.

These are from Volume 1- in Sonny Chiba’s Dragon Princess, a dart flies right by a guy’s head as he moves similiar to the scene where O-Ren throws one at the Bride. In The Return of the Streetfighter, Sonny Chiba stabs someone’s foot with a metal object, similiar to the Go-Go scene.

No, Elle’s just hot. Just like the Bride.
