According to a message board about Grind House, they will both be in Robert Rodriguez’ section and not Quentin Tarantino’s.
[/quote]
Yeah I should have suspected that. I bet Quentin hasn’t even finished the script, let alone the casting.

Here’s a script review of Tarantino’s Death Proof.
I hyperlinked the words “script review”. But here’s the link anyway:
AICN Exclusive!! Script Review For Quentin Tarantino's DEATH PROOF!!

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking. I’ll believe it when it’s confirmed by QT himself. "Cruising around Beverly Hills last week I managed to get my hands on a little script called “Death Proof”. Yeah right, I guess the guy found it lying about in the middle of the street. The guy is either:
1.)lying
2.)oblivious to the fact that he got hold of a fan-written script
3.)telling the truth
I’m more thinking no. 1 or 2.
Yeah I don’t want to believe it either. Or the script isn’t so cool ! I seems flat as he said. But yeah, wait to QT himself. I dont want to believe that kind of thing.
I hope this isn’t the actual script this man is talking about because it sounds absolutely dreadful. If it is, I think Quentin Tarantino is lowering himself to poor standards when he has such a bright future ahead of him
I’ve just finished reading the script review - personally, I think this dude is talking bull…well I sure hope he is. I don’t think QT would be as careless to let a random stranger read the script - do you think Robert has read QT’s script yet?
If this is the actual script for the film, what are some of you guys gonna do? Not like QT because he didnt make Pulp Fiction 2? Its a low budget 75 minute Exploitation film for fucks sake. What do you expect QT to do? Make Citizen Kane every time out of the gate? As long as the film is entertaining and we get some cool QT sequences, thats all you can ask. Some of you guys are STILL doubting QT can make a good film. Its amazing to me.
Another thing is, QT has studied the lives of so many filmmakers, Film is in his blood, he eats, sleeps and breathes movies. Did you ever think QT already knows where he wants his career to go? To him, its not about making Oscar friendly films and being some elitist snob who only wants to prove himself to other people. Hes always been a guy whos made movies HE would want to see. If we didnt like Dogs or Pulp or Kill Bill etc we wouldnt even be here right? I just think people should wait and see before just saying they hate the films premise etc. The same thing happened before Kill Bill came out and everyone ended up loving it.
welcome back WinslowLeach!

Can I just stop you right there, please. If people have a reason to doubt this script review, does that make them any less of a fan? I would have thought everyone is here for the same reason and that is to enjoy QT’s body of work.
You appear to be the typical fan of QT. Everything he touches is gold, when in actual fact he has his faults.
I enjoyed Pulp Fiction but when QT released Jackie Brown, I loved it. His work was maturing with each movie. I’ve never wanted another Pulp Fiction and I am sure I speak for some of his other fans.
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 were proof that QTs visual style was expanding and he chose to focus on that rather than his material.
If I personally don’t like the sound of this script, I will say so as a loyal fan of Quentin Tarantino, not because I dislike him, but because we know he can do a hell of a lot better. He’s probably sitting on a classic in Inglorious Bastards. At the moment, it looks as if QT has taken a step back even further in terms of quality.
I don’t think anyone doubts whether QT can make a good movie, if they do, they wouldn’t be a member of this place
Don’t be so rude to people for having their own opinion and don’t assume that because some people don’t like the sound of it, it means they are less of a fan. That’s just plain ignorance.
What did you think QT was going to do with a film called Death Proof about a killer who uses a car instead of an axe or knife? Did you think it was going to be some character driven drama with lots of crying and emotional scenes with old ladies? This is QT we’re talkin’ about!! Hes making a wild 75 minute slam bang Exploitation killer car film!!
CujoKing by saying that this is a “step back” for QT in terms of quality, shows that you really dont even know his work. I mean, have you seen any of his films? Do you know about his hardcore love of Grindhouse films? Do you know that every one of his films have been a mix of Grindhouse and Arthouse genres?
Whether or not this script review was genuine or not, I will go see Grindhouse. If it is the actual script, it may not even be the final shooting draft.
Yes, I admit it, I’m a “typical QT fan”, actually I’m more of a die hard QT fan. I’ve always loved his work and he hasnt dissapointed me yet. When youre a big fan of a director, youre a fan for a reason. I love the way he creates movies and I always love the subject matter he explores.
As the script reviewer said, the film isnt dialogue based, but is IS visual based and THAT is what I’m hoping for. I WANT TO SEE QT say FUCK THE DIALOGUE EVERYONE KNOWS ME FOR and see him focus on becoming an even more stylized visual storyteller.
Does anyone really believe QT cant write the most kickass pulpy dialogue anytime he wants? HE CAN!! HE DOESNT WANT TO BASE HIS CAREER SOLELY ON THAT!! WAKE UP!!!
LetsGoto Work: Thanks!
hey wins, welcome back.
but have you for even one second considered that it might be just another punk sending bullshit to AICN? that could be. that’s all there is to it: a healthy dose of doubt. we have seen bullshit reviews in the past, we’ve been through all the kill bill hoaxes etc, so a bit of doubt is nothing grave, dude.
i am looking forward to this film with heart and soul, that doesn’t mean i can’t doubt the integrity of a very dubious sounding article on AICN, that’s all.
It very well may be a hoax, but even if it is, we all know the basic premise of Death Proof already so why would anyone start saying its a bad idea? I really hope AICN isnt so ignorant as to post stuff like that when its not even real. I dont get why they would do that at this point.
who said its a bad idea? did i miss something? who gives a shit about the “reviewer”. i mean, fuck that dude, he didnt even explain how he got hold of the script. and i still doubt he has
"Words and phrases such as “horrible,” “pushed through,” “squashed,” “ripping her face off,“pulverizing,” and “destroying” are thrown about. It will be a horribly bloody mess. I’m really excited.”
"Again, the visuals will probably make this very interesting, but on paper I wasn’t too excited."
This guy sounds like an idiot, he contradicts himself in every sentence. I ain’t saying the review promises a good or a bad film, I’m just saying there’s a good possibility it’s all just a plant, especially since the review ends in the same way like all plants: “I won’t throw away the ending, but it’s not really a surprise.”
