It makes sense to make the audience sound like brain dead idiots when they try to pronounce the movie? I suppose so. That’s very Quentin isn’t it?
I don’t think anyone will be pronouncing the title any differently (mainly because I don’t believe there is one). I know I won’t.
Yeah, and I don’t think QT likes to make the audience sound like brain-dead idiots either.
. . . i think it’s interesting that (presumably) quentin tarantino licensed/purchased the rights to the inglorious bastards property, then he goes and writes a screenplay competely different from the original and on top of that changes the name from the original. other than the pronunciation of the title, does this ib have much else in common with the italian one direct by the enzo? if i’d paid full price for the rights to a remake i’d actually do a remake. maybe they get deal on licensing if what they film isn’t the same as the original. intersting anyway. man, quentin tarantino’s inglourious basterds is already a massive internet and media hit even before he’s made it. awesome man!

Not you or me or the people that “get him” but the general audience I wouldn’t put it past him. Remember for all his genius, he is also a bit of a biggot. His argument for releasing a gory version of Kill Bill in Asia and not in the West was “you can’t handle it”… or something along those lines, ergo, his Western audience are idiots. ;D

And you also quoted nublob who also stated more or less that.
I dont see why this is such a big deal. If you make a movie you can call it whatever the hell you wanna call it, and you don’t even need a good reason for it
It’s not. We’re just speculating about the pronounciation. ; )
Yeah, cos we’re dying for IB shit to talk about, since SOMEBODY likes to tease us by witholding information.

Any admin of a forum would welcome debate. You seem to want to curb it before it’s begun.
I wanna know what possessed qt to name it this… it looks stupid. It probably wont be a reflection on the movie though.
i’m not withholding, i’m alrady working on it. i’ll have to move this whole website to a new hosting environment which i just invested lots of money in so the site doesnt break down due to the awesomeness of the shit i’m preparing for you all. cut me some slack, stop bitching and send some hookers over to my place. jeez

in a perfect world, the admin of a Tarantino website like this would have no trouble getting his dick wet at any times. ;D
there should be pussies flying around you like flies around cowshit, brother.
My guess is that the title is the way it is because that’s about how the main character (?) Aldo Raine would pronounce it.

If you’re German, how come you sound like something out of Wayne’s World…
I can’t believe you guys are actually talking at length about the pronounciation of the films title, it’s ridiculous.
What is so ridiculous about? Quentin obviously did it to stir up a little debate among movie goers, to create confusion. Here’s a new way of spelling it… INGLOOOOOORIUSSS BASSTAAARDS. Now that would create debate. No one would let that off easily. Would it be better in the long run if no one spoke about any aspects of the movie…
well ‘basterds’ by itself is the less weird part, its just a more colloquial spelling, but the inglourious part, well… I have to admit I forgot to ask about this whole title thing, but I’ll try next time

The change of spelling doesn’t really signify a whole new pronounciation of the two words, does it? It seems far too trivial a matter to be talked about to the extent I have seen in this thread. I guess ya’ll are very desperate for some IB news or something. So it’s spelt differently, QT has conjured up a whole mystique surrounding the title - brilliant! But it isn’t really mind-blowing.
Also, I hate when someone makes an over-exaggerated statement like you did, getting all defensive. Talk about the title by all means, just don’t over-analyse it to death like it has been. There are far more pressing issues. If I was for not speaking about any aspects of the movie, do you really think I’d be here?
Aww shurrup Doris. Like you said - which was basically what I said - QT has conjured up a whole mystique surrounding the title… do you expect people not to discuss it when things have slowed down a little lately… join in the fun, it could do with your salacious wit grrrr

You could have asked us to help you with the questions, like you did with the Grindhouse q&a. :’(
