Death Proof on DVD

the extra disk is the interview/making of that was on t.v. It was on F/X. It’s nothing new. However, get the tin case, it just looks better and is worth it for the 5 extra dollars.

No, it doesn’t

Shite! :frowning: Thieving bastards! :frowning: These trailers could’ve been a great feature for the DVD!

Bio, I completely agree with you. Rodriguez has the best special features. I wish QT would would follow his lead. I bought the steel box version today. I had to go to several Best Buys to find it! Blockbuster had it but they were selling it for thirty bucks! Absolute bullshit!

I have not watched all of the special features yet. The additional DVD is a lame television promotion where actors and directors kiss each others asses and talk about how great everyone else is. Nothiong substantial. The packaging for the third dvd was (as someone mentioned before) a crappy paper sleeve.

Disc one has the feature film with plenty of deleted scenes not shown in the US theatrical release. Such as:

  1. JJ getting her feet wet on the porch and having an extended conversation w/ SM.
  2. Butterfly agrees to make out w/ whiny boyfriend w/ red umbrella in his car.
  3. The full version of Butterfly’s lap dance.
  4. Zoe Bell and her girlfriends have an extended scene at a convenience store where SM licks Abernathy’s feet while she’s taking a nap in the car. She wakes up shortly afterward and spots him watching the girls from across the street in his car. This scene starts out in black and white then changes to color.
  5. The dick department coversation in the car is longer.
  6. The chick habit song that is shown during the end credits is in English and French.

I’m sure I’m leaving something out. I have not watched disc two yet. I’m saving that for tomorrow. I’m really looking forward to the bit about Sally Menke.

I laready saw the movie, I just wanted more - Robert Rodriguez makes one hellva DVD, he has that 10 min flick school and always does a commentary track, it was too bad they delayed the Planet Terror DVD, it just isin’t the same - I wanted to watch both films then listen to the commentary track - but that ain’t gonna happen is it! IS IIIIIIITTTTT!!! >:(

BTW 3:10 To Yuma is fantastic - I saw it today 10/10

The “Hi, Sallys” cracked me up. I loved it.

Hello all, new here but I had a question - is this scene on anyone else’s DVD copy? I got the steelbook version, but this scene is definitely not on my copy. All the others mentioned are. I actually saw part of it on the bonus (3rd) disc and realized that it must have been cut from the movie, but if it’s on some of the DVD copies and not others, I need to take mine back…

No, the JJ/SM foot dialogue is not in the movie.

…and QT has the best movies. If you want to watch great Special Features, buy RRs dvds.

read it for yourself: <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.exclaim.ca/motionreviews/gen … &csid1=115”>http://www.exclaim.ca/motionreviews/generalreview.aspx?csid2=774&fid1=27562&csid1=115</LINK_TEXT>

Sorry, your right. It must have been on the crappy paper sleeve disk.

I do! I love them both! For me, QT’s a better director. However, I’m a junky for extras and that’s where RR has him beat. I watched Sally Menke’s extra footage and, while I enjoyed it, I would have liked to see her do an interview.

The uncut Death Proof is soooooo much better than the Grindhouse version. While it was great to get to see a double feature I wish the movies had not been butchered just to try and recapture a lost era. It really killed this kick ass movie IMO. I didnt love the chopped up edit, it felt hollow to me. I cant wait to see the unedited version of PT. You guys sure sell RR short. He is one hard working dood and PT was really good IMO. I hope Sin City 2 and 3 will make more people fans. To me Sin City shows how much RR has grown as a director. It was masterful. So beautiful and the pacing and editing. WOW! I mean the guy directs, edits and scores his movies! Thats talent!

italian? wow. that is weird. it’s usually french so they can sell the same disc in canada

btw, I hope the "hi sally"s will be on the kill bill dVD, too

The double dare trailer was nice, and the stuntmen featurete was pretty interesting too.

Just got my Death Proof 2 disc DVD from Amazon. Awesome!! 8)

I was hoping that one of the deleted scenes would have kurt russell do another kill? I didn’t think the original had enough kills to warrant it being called a slasher movie.

Though i still loved the movie. Has anyone watched the unedited version and answer my question?

Its not any one specific subgenre. Its a hybrid of a bunch of them. It weaves in and out of diff kinds of exploitation films. Thats why its so cool. If you want a straight up slasher, watch Halloween or Friday The 13th.

Im gonna watch both cuts tonight.

DP is currently Nr. 15 in the amazon.com DVD charts. pretty bad, imo.

transformers is 9. , people are retarted.

I enjoyed the behind the scenes footage when Eli is making fun of Stuntman - that really cracked me up.

How did Donnie Darko DVD sales start out? Much worse. I think it will be a long steady seller. But really, its not a movie for everyone so its not gonna be a blockbuster. Yeah we dig it but thats our taste.
