Sure…friends as in I’ll be nicer and won’t chew you out anymore. As long as you think twice before posting some things, like how QT should make a Harry Potter film.

I’m only applying to film-schools… whatever that means.

UCLA?

My dad actually went to UCLA, and I live in CA, but no fucking way. The average GPA for UCLA is like 4.2 now.

NO FUCKING WAY

This may sound weird but i would give both testicals to be a director. Its my dream. i may only be 16 but its been my dream since i saw Pulp when i was 11. I have written 2 scripts that didnt get finished but i am currently working on one that me and some friends plan on filming and entering in the Western Kentucky Film Festival. ;D

Want to yeah…but will never be one… :frowning:

Directing seems like a building process; You act, then you write, then you produce, then you direct.

I wonder if good short films will get you noticed?

Let’s say you make some short films and show them online and it wins respect. I wonder if that is a good way to land a deal.

Someone posted a link to a cool site of some terrific short films. People vote on their favorite ones. I hope the best ones get noticed and that the directors behind them can find some work.

^^^^^^

Doubt it. There are already way too many people trying to be directors for them to have to worry about searching for them. They probably just get people that make good shit in college.

I definately want to be a writer, a screenwritter and I want control over my own films so I want to direct them. My films are going to scare the HELL out of people!!! :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o

Yeah, I would like to be a great director and writer like Tarantino. And make horror or gangster films.

All I need is:

  1. Great imagination
  2. Perfect style
  3. Fanatism
  4. Charisma

Damn, I’ll never be a director.

Mr. Translusent, do you mind if i ask you what your scripts about, and how much are you getting, youre a lucky guy to be getting a deal t the age of 15, im 14 so it gives me hope.

it’s not the fact that i want to be a director, i am. my friends can see the director inside me when we’re watching movies (they’ve told me to shut up so many times lol). we’re currently trying to get a Reservoir Dogs parody to take off and a spin off tv series. anyone in the western NY area that wants to join forces, let me know.

I want to make movies like Takashi Miike- just put a whole lot of random, stupid, crazy, awesome shit and not really care about plot or anything else and pump out like 9 movies a year. I’m creative enough that even if they suck, they’ll still be cool.

I want to be a female Quentin Tarantino! ;D

yeah, directing is something i definately want to pursue. its getting there that will suck. So far i’ve made 2 completed art house - type films that i’ve sold just on the side to get my name up. i dont really care if people copy them and give them to other people - im not in it to make money at this stage.

I’m going to see about film school, its defintaely got me interested, however i dont know if i can afford it :’( but if i show them my previous projects and so forth, i might be able to get in on scholarship.

Im currently writing an 8 part mini series that uses a lot of symbolism of the number 8 . ie : each film is 8 minutes : 08 seconds long, there are 8 characters, one for each film that all intertwine in each other. And the film is set in 1998. im not going into details now, but yeah i have a lot of passion for it.

Cant wait to begin my bleeding crawl toward my dream ::slight_smile:

I’d like to write my own films, and direct them. I don’t post my scripts on here though.

Let’s change the topic title to: “Anyone wants to become the dictator of Cuba?”

i think everybody wunts 2 be a director. i started out just wunting 2 write and never thout bout directing. but then i started bout directing.
