are you serious? you dont know what you’re missing. without volume 2 its just nothing, the entire story is in volume 2.
I know a few people who feel the same way about Vol 1 being ahead of Vol 2 , but they usually still enjoy vol 2, if only for the bit on Pai Mei…are you honestly saying that you cant find any redeeming features in vol 2? …incidenly have you seen it, or are you saying that your refusing to watch it because O-ren & co arent in it ???
precisely jot
i refuse to watch
Are you tempted to watch it though?..is there a reason you started this topic?
I mean, I knew going into Volume 2 that Volume 1 was the greatest thing ever and there was no way it would be topped. And it wasn’t topped. But after a few viewings I find it to be just as good a movie, but in an entirely different way. It’s basically a different movie, but still part of the same story. Don’t have any expectations and don’t compare it to the first half, and you’ll enjoy it.
I’d like a spin-off from Kill Bill starring O-ren and friends, naturally, since imho that’s the only interesting element in the first film…

When I first watched Volume 1, I was so disappointed afterward. It didn’t even come close to any of the greatness of Pulp Fiction. My face just dropped straight after watching Volume 1 and I started to pick out the positive things from it to make myself feel better about it (I couldn’t believe QT let me down, tut) Anyway, now I FUCKIN LOVE this film to fuckin bits. It’s genius. However, no matter how much I love it, I will always know that it will never ever top Pulp Fiction because of that feeling I got after watching it. I judge films after watching them twice (on most occasions only once), I watched Volume 1 twice and it didn’t come close to Pulp. But now I can’t stop watching it. Same thing happened to me about Volume 2, after watching it I was so disappointed, never mind Pulp, it didn’t even touch Volume 2. Now though, I have seen it many times and just love the film. Heck, I can’t stop watching “Kill Bill”, it’s sheer brilliance, but again is not the genius that is Pulp Fiction.
So I use the ‘feeling’ i get after watching a film once (maybe twice) to judge how good it actually is. Therefore, even though I can’t stop loving KB and I watch it like 10 times more than Pulp, I can’t say it’s better than Pulp, because I didn’t like it much upon first viewings.
I don’t know if this post has anything to do with the topic, I just wanted to get this out of me. Thanx for listening!
The only problems I had with some of the deaths in Kill Bill was how Gogo and Pai Mei died. Pai Mei would’ve never gone out like that in any Shaw Brothers flick. He would’ve been too smart to be tricked. Gogo went out in a foolish way. She gets stabbed in the foot with a nail and she acts like she’s never experience pain before allowing herself to get whacked with the fatal blow upside the head. If she was a true warrior she would’ve been able to at least deal with the pain and parry the folllowing fatal blow. Gogo and Pai Mei went out like extras in a Mafia Film and not true warriors.
I agree with you on Pai Mei.
But its not like Gogo curled into a ball and started crying after the nail went into her foot. All she did was inhale loudly and lost her concentration for one second. Which is understandable. I dont care who you are, when a nail goes through your foot youre gonna notice it.
Good points BlazeAlpha…that’s just the tip of the iceberg for me…among other things…it infuriates me how some damn foriener* single handedly wipes out the most ruthless deadly crime syndicate in Tokyo Japan…how disrespectiful to the Japanese community and their long time heritage of masters of the marital arts…they would have torn that btch apart, just like O-ren said, and i don’t care if it’s just a movie…God it pains me to watch that bay of leaves fight and see all the 88z get killed again and again…no i dont have to watch but…i keep praying and hoping the next time i watch that right off the bat Miki (crazy81) doesnt slip and cuts the B*tch in half… but it never happens damn you QT… i want your head!!!

lol, that would be the biggest anti-climax ever. Id like to see that actually, with the whole Hanzo sword ritual and stuff, and then she being chopped in half by the first warrior she meets. Nah, maybe not… maybe as a deleted scene… but that wont happen probably.
You don’t want to see Volume 2 because O-ren isnt in it?? Boy do you have problems. Btw she is in for like 5 seconds if that counts for anything :
Who said that the Crazy 88’s were accomplished martial artists of the highest callibre?? Maybe the only reason why they were notorious was because they attacked in numbers and not because of their skill.
Crazy88z didn’t derserve to die…how so, I guess Miki deserves to be killed becaues he ordered pizza at a sushi bar, that fiend!!! thats justifable… righttt
HOBL was a nightclub, not a sushibar
I feel sad for those who still divide the movie in two volumes. It’s the most idiotic thing they can do.
So, your point is - you liked the beginning only so you didn’t like Kill Bill, so you could just post “I hate Kill Bill”, so this is a spam topic.
I feel sad for those who dont have the mental capacity to realize that people divide the movie into two volumes because it was RELEASED IN TWO FUCKING VOLUMES!
Yeah, but they divide them in two volumes like two different movies. That’s what I mean you imbecile.
