Some history…
Pai Mei really existed. His name can also be pronounced Bai Mei I’ve heard. He is known to have betrayed the Shaolin Temple. His name means “white eyebrow” which is the kung fu system he developed. He was around during the time of monk Gee Shim, who was one of the key guys that led to the creation of tiger crane (hung gar) kung fu, generations before Wong Fei Hung (correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure I’m not). This is why he tiger and crane fists are used against him in those old Shaw Bros. movies. There have been so many legends about him, but there a lot of history. Kind of what happened to Wong Fei Hung.

He’s nefarious for killing a bunch of people who killed his treacherous student.
How is it that The Wolf is the only character that can travel through the different universes?
i guess this is kind of one. as we no there has allready been a boot shot from a car from vol 1 which would mean that there doesnt need to be any others but in away the bit with budd…“wakey wakey eggs and bakey” looks some what like that kind of shot and although its not from a boot it still the back of the car.
when uma walks to the camera, when she walks to budd, its like the way leone shot henry fonda in once “upon a time in the west”.
Button stiehlt Schumi die Pole
Pay attention to Rufus tomas (samuel l jackson) he sed he was a " Coaster “a Loner” “a Drifter” etc whatever i think Samuel played all those type of roles from his other movies…
I like how in the Volume 2 trailer after the Bride sees her daughter, the thumping beats of “il Trio” coincide with varous things seen on screen like the nail being hammered into the coffin and Uma kicking the door and rolling on the floor.
Also, I noticed at the part when Uma walks down to chat with Bill and the old western show is playin on the tv, she (or Bill, can’t remember) sheaths the sword right when someone on the show gets punched, making a cool ass sound effect.
quote: When Uma got shot with the drug dart, the way she slobbery screams at Bill is a lot like the way Mr Orange slobbery screamed at the tortured cop in Reservoir Dogs.
yeah and that’s also what ted the bellboy from 4 rooms screams when he sees some girl from other segment. that part was in the man from hollywood written by qt
- bride’s daughter B.B. - stand for both “BANG BANG” & “Bill Beatrix”
- pai mei & johnny mo - - it’s the same actor
- esteban & the sherrif - -again same actor

Uuuuuuh, what a news! Sorry, but everyone in this board knows that Pai Mei and Johnny Mo are played by Gordon Liu and Esteban and Earl McGraw by Michael Parks. Thats really old news.
I think Budd has the same shelf that Butch’s mother has in her house. It’s in the shape of a square, with a smaller square in the center.
Haven’t seen it yet but apparently you can see a pack of Red Apples on the table in front of Estaban.
Just a few small things, you guys probably alredy know em.
Beatrix never says a word to Budd.
Uma gets stuck with a needle once again, in Kill Bill she goes to “sleep” and in Pulp she "wakes up"
Her fake last name Machiavelli could have something to do with Niccolo Machiavelli who staged or advocated to stage his own death. Beatrix gave Bill the idea that she was dead… something like that.
There was something else but i cant remember.
Yeah, and that song that plays when she remembers something from the Wedding only takes place when she sees one of the girls, not the guys.
Does anybody know the name of the book Esteban is reading?
It’s called Kurracans of Kurrajong or something like that.
Another thing is the constant use of the phrase “Ah so”, which you can hear in any stereotypical martial arts movie.
There’s a 5.6.7.8’s song called “Ah so”.
Something I just noticed. When B.B. is sitting on the bed watching the cartoon, there is a lamp on both sides of her. One is on and one if off.
When Budd said he pawned his sword, it reminded me of Pulp Fiction when Butch found a Samurai sword in the pawn shop he was in.
Also, I could be wrong, but I think Tarantino did lend his voice in vol.2. It was when Budd’s boss (off camera) yells at Budd to come at the office. It’s probably not Tarantino’s voice but it sure sounded like him.
Don’t know if anyone else noticed this.
The two different size flutes that David played: The smaller flute was from when he played Kwai Chang Caine from the original series. The second flute that he is playing by the camp fire was from Circle of Iron. He also wield it like a weapon, which also comes from Circle of Iron. It is reference to when he played the blind flute player Asam.
I was wrong about what I said earlier…the sound effect coinciding with the person being punched on the western show playing on the tv is actually when Bill places the sword on the table, not sheaths it.
I also noticed how Uma has the same exact look on her face as the western hero, who are both about to try to fight their enemies.
There was a white Honda Civic on the parking lot of My Oh My’s.
Another thing I noticed is a mistake: When Budd kicks B’s sword away from her it gets stuck to a fuel drum from the tip of the blade. In next shot the sword lies on the ground couple of feet from the drum. And when Budd walks to the barbeque set to call Elle the sword is back in it’s original place.
Here are some other things I noticed from this fucking brilliant movie:
- The close-up shots of the car’s headlights when the Bride is driving to Bill’s house reminded me of similar shots found in
Taxi Driver.
- The Bride carrying the buckets of water in the Pai Mei Chapter was similar to Lo Lieh doing the same thing in
Five Fingers of Death.
- Moments before dying, Bill asks
“How do I look?”. The same phrase was uttered by Marvin Nash inReservoir Dogs just before his death.
- While reading the information about the Black Mamba, Elle tells Budd
You gotta pay attention to this, cause this concerns you". A similar phrase was uttered by Ordell to Louis inJackie Brown.
