Its in the Volume 2 reviews topic. Check it out.
Aaah, YOU are Pete Roberts! And thats your review called “Heaven and Hell”. Ah, now I understand. Cool review .
I have one question: Is there any long and Leone’esk build-up with Spaghetti Western music in the showdown? Like the Bride and Bill facing each other, some Morricone stuff is playing. And then, finally, the 10 point palm heart exploding technique?
Dunno if this was mentioned in any other threads, for I haven’t been here in months and only looked through this thread hehe…
The titty club owner, when “barking” at Budd, he says something along the lines of “I need you like I need an asshole right here” as he points at his elbow. That’s a nod to Roger Avary, a line that Rupert from Roger Avary’s Rules of Attraction uses.
Anyone catch the names of the children in the classroom when Beatrix Kiddo’s name is called in attendance call? Was the second girl Melanie Whorehouse? Totally forget the first child.
Also noticed a can of Stagg’s chili in Budd’s cupboard. Stagg’s Chili is the FCUKING BEST canned chili in the world. Wish Costco still carried it =(

It’s all silent. And the fight just comes out of nowhere (In fact, there are a few surprises that occur in Vol-2 that a lot of people won’t be prepared for) but Morricone showed up to escort Bill out of the picture. And when I heard those first few electric-guitar notes from Navajo Joe, I almost immediately stood up and applauded. “L’arena” was also used to perfection. Quentin Tarantino just KNOWS how to use great music to great imagery.
And 1 little nifty thing I liked was at the closing credits, The Crazy 88 are credited in similar fashion as:
When Elle and Beatrix are fighting and they smash into the bathroom, you can clearly see the shower tiles are made of cardboard. I thought that was pretty funny.
hey i’ve been reading this forum a very long time and now i’ve decided to post
not really a nifty little little shit, but i noticed that the scene of bill throwing his knife at that guy that was in the trailer isn’t int he movie, and that black guy with the samurai sword…
i thought the whole panning out scene at the massacre at two pines was awesome, it pans out from inside the chapel, then shows the sweetest shot of the DiVAs walking up, then it goes to an angle in the air, i came in my pants when i saw it
Oh, Man/Okinawa. If you want a “Leone’esk build-up with Spaghetti Western music”, then you’ll defiently get it when Elle & Bride draw their swords.

I love that scene, builds up the tension great.
The scene with the Bride in the coffin trying to punch her way out reminded me of the “wiggle your big toe” scene in Volume 1.
Also, when the Bride and BB are watching “Shogun Assasin,” the audio segment you hear is the exact same as at the very beginning of GZA’s “Liquid Swords” album, produced of course by RZA.
Small detail: The split-screen during the fight between Beatrix and Elle. They both kick each other or something, then fall back, there faces then pop up on the split-screen . Looked cool.
does anyone think that QT is referencing melville’s “billy budd” by naming the brothers “bill” and “budd”?
and, of course, bill and beatrix’s child is named B.B.—is it that simple or does anyone know of another reason–or what B.B. could otherwise stand for??
Budd never pawned the sword. You must be pretty stupid to think that. Hello Uma uses it to fight with Elle. The only reason Budd said that was to hurt Bill’s feelings because it was a gift that Bill gave Budd awhile back.
