Volume 2:Nifty Little Little Shit
Budd never pawned the sword. You must be pretty stupid to think that. Hello Uma uses it to fight with Elle. The only reason Budd said that was to hurt Bill’s feelings because it was a gift that Bill gave Budd awhile back.
I never said that Budd actually pawned it you fucking faggot, I said thats what he told Bill. So shut your ignorant ass up.

When Uma got shot with the drug dart, the way she slobbery screams at Bill is a lot like the way Mr Orange slobbery screamed at the tortured cop in Reservoir Dogs.

-The blatantly phony backdrop in some of the shots of Uma training for Pai Mei.

-Also the shot of Bill driving away from Pai Mei’s is a classic shot used alot in the 50’s and 60’s. Alot of movies where someone gets dropped off will include that shot.

-The name of the brothel
Budd says he pawned the Hattori Hanzo sword…in Pulp Fiction, Butch finds a samauri sword in the pawn shop…connection?
ha i didnt notice that until now. thats interesting. maybe the bride did something with it afterwards....

When Elle and The Bride kick eachother, it was exactly like when Jackie Chan and Benny Urquidez kick eachother in Wheels on Meals. Another totally kick-ass fight.

At the end, there is another reference to “Lone Wolf and Cub” when the text says the lioness and the cub. Beatrix and BB are like the lone wolf and cub (except reversed genders) Read the Lone Wolf and Cub manga, it reminds me of this.

I liked the quote at the end. I always thought it was translating the song that was playing. ::slight_smile:

the “before the strip turned blue, I would have jumped a motorcycle onto a speeding train for you” line describes a famous Jackie Chan stunt in Police Story 3.

Did anybody notice the missing shots of the fight between Beatrix and Elle? Remember in the theatrical trailer it showed them charging at eachother with their swords in a close-up from the side and from the front? It was done like Budd’s trailer was longer than it actually is. It was really cool and I think added a lot of emotion to the fight. But it wasn’t in the movie.
Difficult to miss but, the Bronson poster on the wall in budd’s trailer…
…Which is interesting because QT has compared Michael Madsen to Charles Bronson.

I believe Madsen’s character in “Inglorious Bastards” is going to be called “Buchinsky,” Bronson’s real last name.
BUT Daryl Hannah’s name has a ?.. She maybe still alive…
Whether QT follows up on this dangling thread, he’s clearly opening up the possibility for her to become a “blind swordsman.”
The name of that Roy Rogers movie is called The Golden Stallion.
Which, if I’m not mistaken, is Tarantino’s favorite Witney movie.
does anyone think that QT is referencing melville’s “billy budd” by naming the brothers “bill” and “budd”?
Very interesting. Never noticed that.

I thought maybe Budd was a tribute to Budd Boetticher, although I don’t think I’ve ever heard Tarantino mention him specifically as an influence…

Another thing is the constant use of the phrase “Ah so”, which you can hear in any stereotypical martial arts movie.

In Vol.1 and about halfway thru Vol. 2 Bill calls Beatrix “Kiddo”, and not until later on do we find out her name ~but~ we were told it all along.

When I came home this afternoon after watching Kill Bill vol2, I went up the attic & looked at a box full of toy cars, Hotwhells & stuff like that.

I found out that I have a chrome De Tomaso Mangusta, just like that car that Bill drives. It’s all beaten up & well used, I think it was one of my favorite toy cars out of the 60-70 that I got in that box. That is one cool motherfucking car!

In the scene where Beatrix and Elle are fighting in Budds trailer, when Beatrix is swinging the guitar around, and Elle jumps over the kitchen counter, as she lands on top of Budd you hear a guitar smashing clip in the backround, and if I’m not mistaken that’s the same clip Hanna Barbera uses in the old cartoon Quickdraw Mcgraw when he becomes El Kabong and smacks people over the head with his guitar. I might be wrong, but thats immediatly what i thought when i heard it.

The scene from vol. 1 where O-Ren goes “Silly rabbit” and the Bride refers back with the Trix are for kids line, is alluding to her name.

Little did Quickdraw Kiddo know…

She is talking about going on a job to wack Lisa Wong at the end… the name in Nice Guy Eddie’s pocketbook in the beginning of Dogs is Wong…

The same woman plays Bonnie in Pulp as the teacher in the short school scene where the Bride’s name is revealed…

Just noticed this last night during a private screening with QT. During the Elle/Beatrix scene when they say eachothers names. “Elle?..” “B?..” Possible Lawrence Bender nod anyone?
