>>Volume 1 Animated Sequences topic

I don’t think it’s bill either, but it could be.

  1. Originally we were going to see bill’s face. For all we know he made the decision in editing (Unlikely, but possible, like elvis in True Romance) so the anime people didn’t know that.

  2. People change rings. They are removable. The fact that a guy would wear a ring is kind of scary in the first place (Unless he’s married) but i agree that if QT wanted us to think it was Bill he probably would have made the ring the same.

  3. He was young there. He wasn’t powerful. Everyone starts out working for someone.

  4. QT wanted us to speculate on who it was. Who knows, maybe its just some random guy? He didn’t want to hand us the answers.

  5. She didn’t see him. She was under the bed.

IT COULD BE BILL, OR JUST SOME RANDOM GUY!!!

Well I agree about it looking nothing like Carradine. Cause they did a REALLY good job making the Anime O Ren (During the sniper scene) look a lot like Lucy Liu.

And the anime of the killer in the white suit looked nothing like Carradine.

PLus, if it was Bill , it’s too late for O Ren to find out…the only reason it COULD be Bill is if it came into play later…it’d be ironic that Bill kills O Ren’s parents, then hires her in her twenties…then maybe O Ren finds out and kills bill.

So if It were Bill…it makes no sense i’d be him. He has nothing to do with anything.

I think it is possible. I only noticed last night. He has rings, and one is a skull, there is a skull on his sword’s scabbard. And I think the age would be correct. The man in the Anime Sequence looked about 35 or so. Twenty years later… I think he looked enough like Bill 20 years ago, I mean c’mon everyone looks a little different when there Animated.

Also, the fact that the man didn’t speek could be even more a proof it could have been Bill, because Quentin wouldn’t want it to be obivious to everybody. And why would they place so much emphasis on it. That shot of “him” moving his hair back “revealing” his face.

And O-Ren might not have seen the man, she was under the table. You never know… I’m open to thinking it was him.

The rings dont look like bills, nor the sword. His sword has a more maroon wrap, and if im not mistake (and in this part i could be) the cartoon mans tsuba (i think thats the right word, the hand guard) is square, more akin to ninja type swords than samurai; Ninjas use their swords in many cases as a step ladder, hence the design.

Bill’s looks just like The Bride’s although the Bride’s scabbord is more streamlined than Bill’s.

However i still think it might be just due to the attention that character got. It would make more sense if he wasnt important to have the actual boss do the killing

Perhaps the animated scene supposedly in the second will shed some light on this

Somebody here might want to email these guys - http://www.production-ig.com/killbill.php

And ask them if the guy in the white suit in the Ishii murder scene is Bill or just some Yakuza guy?

I checked everywhere there and it doesnt mention a Bill in the anime scene, also unfortunately their design section is empty. I was hoping there would be a character design pic there of the guy in the white suit to tell us what his name is to clear this tricky question.

I think its a young 20 something Bill in the white suit with the ring on his finger, Remember when Hattori Hanzo sed he stopped making swords 28 years ago its maybe cuz Hanzo was upset that the sword he made for Bill was used to kill

Oren ishii’s parents and he was saddenned by it… So he retired… Its obvious the sword in the Anime that Boss Motsimoto that Bill handed to him was a Hanzo sword…Look

at the handle designs of the sword its the same as when Bill talking to elle driver on the phone…
I don’t have a source or anything, but I read in this magazine (forgot what it was called) that Kill Bill will feature a 10-minute anime sequence. What’s up with that? I’ve never heard of that before, that’s crazy!! I don’t think it’s bad, but just…different. What, will the movie take a break then all of a sudden go into anime, or will the anime just push the most violent part of the movie so it can get by the MPAA? Has anyone else heard about this? I think it might be cool, this actually reminds me of the Samurai short in the Animatrix. What do you guys think?

The mag had Uma Thurman on the cover, it says “KILL BILL. The only movie you need to see this year…”
it was done in a movie i cant remember the name

It was done in the 1970’s in a movie called the wall, but they did it for a metephore not violence.

Something interesting i found

HEre it says that Bill was the guy. Now i would guess that is only the guys opinion but…

Actually i dont think the white suit guy is. Few reasons, the most obvious already stated. However one that jumped out to me recently is this

In the credits, three characters are listed with a voice actor specifically for that character. Boss, O-ren, and another character, called: “Pretty Riki” Since the white suit guy in my opinion is really the only one that was present enough to perhaps warrent a voice acting credit, and the bitchness of his appearance, i would guess that he is Pretty Riki. Of course soemthing else i noticed is that the other guy present might in fact be bill. Unlike the other 2, he looks more caucasian in appearance. Also he doesnt speak at all.

Personally i wonder if it would be important enough to make it Bill though however. The initial thought about it was that because “Riki” was shown so much, he must have some purpose…however the one who appears to me the more likely canidate for Bill, was just there.

And another thing that would support that Riki, as i will hearby call him, might be bill. One of his rings is a skull type ring, a similar type skull (i would say very similiar) is seen on Bill’s sword.

Interesting indeed.

I still think the second animated sequence will reveal more. I have a feeling that bill might be animated since i would think that the sequence would probably be backstory in some fashion, and thus Bill being the central character he is likely to appear.

A member asked:
why did quentin choose to use cartoon animation to describe o ren’s life??

can anybody help?
