>>Volume 1 Animated Sequences topic

you should read what Empire wrote about the animated scenes

Anime rocks! ;D
And am I the only one who is somewhat disappointed at RZA’s “Ode to O-Ren Ishi”? I know it was just a 30 second clip but in those 30 seconds it just didn’t have any flow.
i know what you mean, i used to like Rza in the good old days but he feel off hard

^ yeah it was his attempt at spoken word and it did not come off well.

I am looking forward to his SOLO album though - as he dropped that bullshit BOBBY DIGITAL crap and is back to being the RZA

And whatever happened to that BOBBY DIGITAL movie?

Did RZA put that aside to play a Crazy 88?

In the anime sequence, the Man with the Sword, lanky white suit, long dair hair looks alot like David Carradine. Its Bill right? I was certain, I thought it was obviously Bill, but no one in the theater with me(the other 2 ppl haha) noticed or agrreed. But I’m certain of it, anyone else catch this? Opinions? (this was originally not posted by me; and in another topic)

that’s what i thought - but why would she let bill live given that he was there and helped kill her parents.

Plus he had to be a lot younger since she was only a kid.

All i have to say is that the first part of the anime sequence was a little fucked up. I felt really bad about the little girl and her parents. It was still really cool, but the part where she’s sniping is genius. That was SO FUCKING COOL. I LOVED THE BULLET GOING THROUGH THE HEAD AND SHIT AND THE INSIDE VIEW FROM THE BRAIN WITH THE EXIT WOUND LOVE IS IN THE AIR.

I don’t think it was Bill…how could she remember what that one guy looked like (the one she kills) but not recall Bill later in life?

I’d make sense it maybe it WAS Bill and he then took her under his wing…but thats sounds too familiar to some other movie I can’t think of right now.

yea dude, the guy in the white suit was definitly bill, seemed pretty obvious, but they had that whole piece of him at the end of that scene shooting the beer and lighting it, who else could it be, thered be no reason for just some guy to do that… 8)

first of all, it wasn’t beer.

second, if it WAS bill, which i don’t think it was, they would have taken strides to make sure it looked like bill. and i don’t know if you’ve actually seen what he looks like… you’d realize it’s not him.

  1. doesn’t looke like him.
  2. bill wasn’t involved in a yakuza gang. he’s an independent contracter.

I thought that guy was Bill myself. The reason: The ring on his finger. Bills wearing a similar kind of ring in the movie.

But if it was Bill, wouldnt O-Ren have killed him too? She wouldnt be working for him. Unless she didnt see his face. I cant remember if she did or not. I gotta go see the film again.

It wasn’t Bill. If it was, why would she work for him?

It was beer. The guy kicked the cigar to light up the building, covering it all up.

Every one of those guys worked for the big tatoo covered cigar-smoker.

Though, upon reading the ring connection, it might be Bill. But I HIGHLY doubt it.

it wasn’t beer, lol. if you threw a damn cigar into beer it would put it out.

it was hard alcohol, shit that is flammable because of high alcoholic content.

did you notice the shot glass right next to the bottle? lol.

btw if they were trying to make a connecting with the ring, it should have been more obivous. the ring looks nothing like the ring bill wears when he’s talking to elle.

I never made the connection that it could be bill since i didnt know what bill looked like. Like i didnt know he had longer hair. It could be. Bill was trained by Hanzo right? And im pretty sure that training took place long enough in time that he would have skills needed to do the stuff in the sequence.

Plus considering he was such a visible presence in the sequence where the parents were killed, that when he wasnt killed by Lui’s character when she killed the boss that i thought he might be making another appearance.

I plan on seeing it again later today, so ill try to get a good look at the katana in the cartoon and see if it looks like Bill’s.

Upon further reflection it CAN NOT be Bill

and it was hard liquor he set the place on fire with.

WHy the fuck would Oren let that motherfucker live - THINK PEOPLE!!!

She didn’t see his face, she was under the bed. She only saw his hands on the sword, i think.

IT COULD BE BILL!!!

But i’m not sure.

true dat - we don't know how much she was from her perspective being under the bed

It wasn’t Bill. I’m sure of this for a few reasons:

  1. If QT didn’t want to show Bill’s face in Vol. 1, he would have kept the trend going in the anime sequence. Since we see the killer’s face, we know it wasn’t Bill, who is mysterious.

  2. The ring looked nothing like the one we saw on Bill.

  3. I get the impression that Bill works for no one… including a crime boss in Japan.

  4. If QT wanted us to think it was Bill, he would have made the killer speak… the voice would have been similar/identical to Bill’s. The killer does not speak, which tells me that it is not supposed to be Bill.

  5. O-Ren has no problem with Bill. No beef.

    Enough said.
