Shouldn’t this thread be stickied or something? Btw, gonna bump my old question: wasn’t Kill Bill supposed to be re-released in theaters as the full version?
yes it was… but in the meanwhile, the Weinstein left Miramax so there are legal issues to solve and QT did Grindhouse so it’ll take some time i think

That would be great, because that way I’d get to see it… someday
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, everyone, but Amazon.com is now saying the release date is November 6.

damn damn damn damn!
A VERY reliable source of mine told me that his contact at Buena Vista confirmed Amazon’s date of Nov.6th, that it’ll be the NC-17 rated version, and that it’ll come with 4 Discs.

But why would someone at Buena Vista know? After the Miramax split, The Weinstein Company retained the rights to The Whole Bloody Affair, Buena Vista(Disney) only own Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2 as two separate movies.

From DavisDVD.com’s “Rumor Mill”:
It’s been one of the most oft-requested titles, and it appears that it finally may be hitting store shelves. For nearly three years filmmaker Quentin Tarantino has been talking up his Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair, the NC-17-rated magnum opus of Volumes 1 and 2 edited into one film. Now, according to Amazon.com, the long-awaited DVD release is due later this year- on November 6th - through Genius Products/The Weinstein Company. No real details are available yet, but we do know that the running time is listed at 247 minutes and that the package will span four discs.
Damn, I’m really looking forward to this.
wait to see what is in the bonus disc… the previous edition was four disc as well but the extras were lame
I think I’m still gonna hang on to my premium jap boxsets. Chances are “The Whole Bloody Affair” won’t be half as pretty, or as generally awesome. That said, I’m still excited about buying it, mainly because if it’s a four disc edition, then there’s bound to be a ton of extras.
The one thing that’s bothering me at the moment is the fact that this is supposed to be a full cut of the movie, i.e. one in which the two volumes become one movie. However, if they’re split over two discs, what’s the point? I mean, surely that would just be the cuts we already have, minus the intro credits from vol.2? Seems a bit lame to me. If they can sort that out and get the whole movie on one disc, we could be looking at 3 discs of extras, which would obviously be the greatest thing ever. I can’t even think about it. It’s just too brilliant.
They could put 4 hours of movie on one disc, but the picture would look crappy since they would have to lower the bit rate… perhaps the can fit it on a blu ray?

They can, but how will fans without Blu-Ray players watch it?
They would of course have to watch it split in two, or in shitty quality
It is a bit redundant having them split over two discs as we already have that. However, Once Upon A Time in America (I think) and The Godfather Part II were split over two discs so I don’t have a problem with that. Hopefully they’ll treat us with remastered sound and picture quality. There’s sure to be a whole heap of kickass extras.
What I’m most excited about is that finally all these dumbasses will realise that Volume 1 and 2 are part of one film. I already think this way, but fucking imagine that… Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown and KILL BILL, four masterpieces. With the two volumes combined, it’ll win over more fans and those cunts that hated one over the other will change their view.
I absolutely agree. It really annoys me that a lot of people don’t get it. It’s not kill bill 2. It’s vol 2
ONE movie, not a damn sequal… i have had to explain this way to many times
