The Western

Weird, never heard of it even if it’s out on dvd in France…

it’s a great chase western, beautiful landscape, borders on the metaphysical… I loved every minute of it. really great

It was released here and advertised fairly healthily too. I don’t think it did too well, and was out of the cinemas as soon as it came in. I missed it when it was on, but I rented it later and liked it quite a bit. You can’t go wrong when you have Liam Neeson in your cast.

Seraphim Falls - 7.5/10

Finally got to see this after all this time. I wasn’t disappointed. Some great moments, some great cinematography and some great dialogue and acting. Of course, Brosnan and Neeson were the stand outs, but then again the film was about them. The relationship between them and particularly the change that occurs at the end was mind-altering and heart-warming. The final third became a bit dull as I wasn’t quite sure where the story was headed, but it made ammends. Storytelling at it’s simplest but a must watch for Western fans. This is one of a handful of Modern Westerns I have watched recently and nothing could make me happier than to know that this genre has resurfaced and been reinvigorated. Roll on No Country For Old Men.
