Where’s My Darling Clementine? IMO, that’s John Ford’s best film.

I havent seen that one.

Go see it, it’s one of my Ford favourites as well.

I don’t really know much about Pope Adolph the III’s personal toiletry habits, but anyone who thinks westerns are dead knows nothing about the history and continual resurgence of this genre. It was dead, except as kiddie fare until John Ford revived it with Stagecoach. It was dead again, until High Noon gave it an adult psychological spin. Sergio Leone showed that it could be turned into a classic American artform, even if it was made in Italy. And Sam Peckinpah galvanized the finishing touches to a genre that will never go out of style. The Western dead? I don’t think so. It’s just a sleeping giant waiting to return. The right actor, the right director and the right time will bring it back from slumber. Maybe one of our more stylistic directors like QT or Rob Zombie needs to explore this avenue? Until that time, us true believers will wait! And watch the old ones!

Just wait for Miike!

Its not dead but it will never be as good as it once was.

Tut, it was going so well until you said this.
Care to expand on this remark!

Rob Zombie is a fucking disgrace.

Zombie belongs only in the horror genre. Devils Rejects was a pretty good horror movie.

House of 1000 Corpses is one of the worst films I have ever seen. I can’t look at clowns the same way again.

Yeah that movie did suck.
Horror and Porn are what beginning directors start out in. The unambitious stay there. Zombie’s films are unique visual experiences and remind me of some of the 60’s spag’s. Maybe he could do a Django or Death Rides a Horse. His pacing is too fast to be Leone-esque or Fordish.

Well maybe but Zombie is horror fan so he’s probably gonna be doing horror movies for awhile.
Hopefully, he’ll grow out of it! Which I’m beginning to think will happen within next few films, especially if he gets ripped a new one with Hallowen remake!
