I was just wondering… Why are you such a big fan of PCD? Do you, with your hand on your heart, think they do make good music? Do you think their message is good? Can you say that what they do is not mostly just PR? o.O
Not to defend Eatern Bauty here, but not every song on the face of the planet must have a “good message”. If you want that kind of thing listen to gospel music, raise your hand in the air and feel the power of God overcome your body. I will however say that the music of these girls is kinda shitty.

- I’m a PCD fan because I like their music, I can dance to it and I think they all are great dancers. I love their “whore-ish” (as some people say) style (it’s called burlesque btw).
- Do they make good music? Yes, they do. But only GOOD music. I will never say they’re one of the best singers/band because, really, I DON’T like some of their songs (ex: Good Stuff and I don’t Need a Man).
- PCD has been around since 1996, they began as underground burlesque performers (as I said many times before). They were making this kind of old-school-cabare-performances. Then, they were transformed to R&B recording group which doesn’t goes along well with their burlesque style (I think). So, the Pussycat Dolls that you see now is a group of performers who were performing BEFORE becoming this kinda-shitty-pop-girl-band. Hence, their image has NOTHING to do with PR.

Oh, and what message are you talking about? If their music has ANY message then it’s something like “dance, dance and feel good about yourself”. And that’s what I do.
I don’t think Ronja was talking about a message in their songs, rather what the PCD themselves symbolise, what message they are trying to convey about the thing they do.

Answering Ify’s question: Well, there’s many artists I like. I listen to almost everything, I’m really into pop-music, don’t know much about the old bands. And to name my favorite artist, it has to be Shakira. Although I can’t fully understand her music, I think it’s daring, I really like her Spanish songs and her voice is very unusual and really strong. And I really like Frank Sinatra, his voice is amazing. I like pop music, rock music, Spanish music and reggaetton, some of French music, rai (arabic music) and of course Russian music…

I can be very obsessed myself (see the Sofia Coppola thread and I don’t even mention the millions of other stuff I’m obsessed about) so nothing about that. I always mock myself about my obsessions.

But I really like Shy’m, her music is amazing and she’s got very beautiful voice but otherwise French music is just not my thing, sorry :embarassed:

Well, eazye, it’s very easy. There’s people like Ronja who say that PCD suck (but for some reason keep posting in this topic), other members who are just spamming the thread with their off-topic discussions and me… hence 8 pages.
