Pulp Fiction
but i love reservoir dogs i have more shit from reservoir dogs like posters and dolls i almost went out and bought the suit.
and yes, i am a loser
I saw Reservoir Dogs first, and it made such a huge impression on me, I knew nothing could follow it. Pulp Fiction came REAAAAAAAAL close, but i don’t think i will ever like a film as much as I liked seeing Reservoir Dogs the first time
Bumping this thread just to see if people’s opinions have changed now since all of us (I hope so atleast) have seen Kill Bill by now.
Right now these are the my favorite QT films in order
- Pulp Fiction
- Kill Bill
- Reservoir Dogs
- Jackie Brown.
Here’s tha new list:
- Reservoir Dogs
- Pulp Fiction
- Jackie Brown
- Kill Bill Volume 1
Kill Bill is his best film so far. Ive seen all of his movies tons of times now. I think Kill Bill is QT at his best. He’s in the Zone as Roger Ebert said. QT has surpassed his previous work and Kill Bill works at a fever pitch. Brilliant stuff.
His other films are all tied for my second best choice.
My personal list would be something like:
1.) Kill Bill: Volume 1
2.) Pulp Fiction
3.) Jackie Brown
4.) Reservoir Dogs
Despite being last, Dogs is still a great film mind you. But out of all the four, it’s the one which I’ll watch less. All the others, including Kill Bill when it eventually comes out on dvd, hold more repeat viewings for me.
Wait, are we talking about his best movies as a Director, or simply his best all around movie? If we’re talking just about cinematography and direction, then my list will definitely have Kill Bill at the top, but if we’re talking about film then my list remains the same.

But i love them all, i cant really jusge kb till i see number 2
For me I would stick with his first and best Reservior Dogs, Pulp Fiction is an amazeing movie but I like this one better. Maybe because it dose not get as much attention as Pulp Fiction.
Tough question because no matter what he does…I am going to support it and love it no doubt! All of his movies are my favorite. But if I had to pick a favorite it would be:
- Kill Bill v1
- Pulp Fiction
3.Jackie Brown & Dogs (tie)
My love is uncondictional…he could make a movie about shit eating rabbits, and I would still love it!

I wouldn’t necessarly go that far : He has directed a bad movie, or part of a movie… Four Rooms for example. His part blew ass and I hated it. Though he is still my favorite director.

dido man. he did a kick ass job with Pulp Fiction. it’s definetly my favorite. no doubt about it.
Ditto. Dido is the name of a female singer.
PULP FICTION! it is arguably the best American (of from anywhere) in the past 4 decades. I’ve never seen such love people have for this film, how it really means something to so many people, how its impact a decade later is still gigantic and in some ways seems likes its growing. you can say “royale with cheese” while in line at Mcdaonalds and everyone under 40 years old will look at you and smile. most would ask what you will have for a tasy beverage. The rewatchability(not a word) is unparralleled. i could watch it evry day i know many of you could too(thank god im not alone w/ tarantinoitis) there is no movie i would rather watch, and everytime i blow 10 bucks on a shitty movie an the cinema i always say shoulda stayed home and watched pulp!" I truly love all his work, 4 rooms is another issue, and i know he didn’t direct it but i absolutely love True Romance, I don’t know why but i’ve always loved it and always will. Its the reason i saw RD, to see what the writer of TR had done before.
Mine is a tie with Pulp Fiction/Reservoir dogs and another tie with Kill Bill/ Jackie Brown. Kill Bill while fun, isn’t his best until I see two. Jackie Brown is another (slightly) different approach to the crime noir genre. Pulp and Rd are just gods in my mind.
I really have to say that it depends on my mood, which I like best…
My opinion on best QT movie chanches after I see one, cause they all kick mighty donkey ass! I saw Kill Bill 4 days ago and I’m still with my head and thoughts with that movie…but that will cool down…probably watch pulp again and will be totally convinced that this is the best QT movie ever…
Have to agree with some of you that they are all so different and equally great in their own way!
I think when Kill Bil lis on DVD it’ll be the EASIEST of the Tarantino films to just sit down and watch. I can sit down and watch Pulp Fiction, Dogs, and Jackie only so many times…(Ilove the movies, but watching them once every three months is good enough for me) but Kill Bill is a different style and genre of film than his other works were…I can see myself watching Kill Bill atleast twice a month when I have it on DVD…and I mean in its whole…other times I’ll just ski pto the desired scenes I want to see…so really, Kill Bill is def his easiest to watch and most fun of his movies.
But Pulp Fiction without a doubt is his fucking best.
ive seen rd about 11 times in the past 2 months
I like all of QTs films the same for different reasons, but when it comes to rewatchability I think Kill Bill will be at the top of the list for me. Its just pure cinema bliss even moreso than QTs previous films. Its almost as if QT let the flood gates open to all his crazy movie geek ideas and just let them flow. Kill Bill Vol 1 is to me, his purest cinematic work yet. I mean that its not about the catchy dialogue, sitting around chatting but about using the real tools of cinema (visuals/action/music) to tell the story. Thats what I wanted to see most of all from QT. He delivered in spades.
really, i thought pulp had more brilliant shot compositions than kill bill.
Examples?
Check the “Nifty little shit you noticed” thread in the Kill Bill section dude. There’s a shitload of things there, I don’t wanna repeat everything.
