its an awesome poster, i had it but it ripped when we moved… i got a departed one to replace it Joe carnahan (director) had an interview the other day where he said that he might write a tremor brothers prequal, they were easily the best out of the characters. Also he outspoke about the grindhouse failure saying (taken from joblo.com)
How in the hell does a Rodriguez-Tarantino movie do that poorly? I’m going to see it tonight. Those guys, Tarantino especially, deserve a helluva lot more love than fcking 11.6 million. What is wrong with American moviegoers? Is there nothing NEW that they’re willing to embrace? Jesus, it’s the worst kind of erosion. We’re making dumber and dumber films and they’re becoming cash cows. God Bless ‘300’, at least it’s got balls and the director WENT for it. THAT movie is good for the business, it’s good for everybody. But some of these other flicks don’t even TRY because they know in the end, EXACTLY the age range and demographic driving ticket prices these days. Those monstrosities (the names of which I won’t mention) are pure pieces of commerce, marketed to perfection.
I hope ‘Grindhouse’ recovers. It’s an audacious idea that I wish would’ve been given a bigger break. Maybe as they separate the two films, they’ll pry some sunshine out of the situation and the Weinsteins will save the day. It bums me the fck out though when something like that, a really cool idea that looks like a great time at the movies, made by real talent-- can’t push past.
It’s just dead wrong kids…and we ALL pay the price when those don’t work.
i liked him before but now i really think he is a ledgend.
w00t.
Speaking of Joe Carnahan I wanna see his version of White Jazz.
yeah im really keen for it as LA confidential is one of my all time fav’s, Shame ed exley isn’t in it though…
Yeah, I think White Jazz fits Joe’s style perfectly.
yeah for sure, if he finds a happy medium between smokin aces and narc it will rock! either way im a carnahan fan so i will watch it even if it turns to shit
Yeah, I can’t wait for White Jazz. I love LA Confidential, but I didn’t really like The Black Dahlia. It was such a good book, but I didn’t think that Eckhart was anything like I imagined his character in the book. Plus there was just something about the way it was made. Maybe because so much book was being crammed into a film. I usually don’t mind De Palma’s kind of melodramatic, classical style of filmmaking, but I there was something the matter here. LA Confidential was definitely better and I hope White Jazz is really good.
I did love LA Confidential, then I read the book. The book totally destroys the movie, I can’t enjoy it anymore.
Have you read LA Confidential, Angel?
