Smokin Aces

just saw the Trailer last night.

Ray Liotta, Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck, Ray Liotta

Hmmm…

sounds good to me

Next week, w00t.

I haven’t been to the move theatre since I think Casino Royale.

jason bateman, i didnt even notice him in the trailer hopefulyy he gets some funny dialouge!

Jason Bateman was hilarious in it! He had some great dialouge and scenes.

I’m not seeing how this movie looks like a tarantino ripoff. Seriously what similarities do you see. I don’t see any! The movie I’m writing closely resembles the style of Smoking Aces. But its not Tarantino’s style I’m emulating, but the style of animes like Naruto or Bleach where its all about the charectures.

Have you not considered how much Kill Bill is like an anime and hundreds of other films. Get off his back you losers.

I completely agree with you

I also agree.

Like I said before, i dont really mind directors ripping off other directors (After all I’m a huge Tarantino fan!) but the film is just so unconvincing that I couldnt enjoy it in any way.

The dialogue was so self-concious and the film was just really comprised of loads of ‘look at me’ moments (which actually werent impressive or amusing at all).

In conclusion, I object to this film on the grounds that it sucks balls in its unoriginality not because its entertaining and unoriginal.

I think I’ll wait 'till this comes on HBO, or maybe even TNT. Rather than pay money to go see it in a theatre.

Great poster!

Yeah I’ll admit that’s pretty damn cool.

Kick Ass poster.

Heres an interview with Carnahan where he replies to people who consider the film a QT ripoff… http://www.chud.com/index.php?type=interviews&id=8570

Good read.

The trailer looked pretty damn stupid to me

I loved the trailer.

I’m going to see the movie finally later, to day. Heres hoping i’m not let down.

Interesting review from Film Threat.

I’m going to see it sometime this weekend…

I saw it earlier today, not quite what I was expecting. It was good though 8)

I liked it, but I have to see it again… The first time I knew i was really enjoying it, but wasn’t sure if it was actually any good or not…

My biggest concern is too many reviews act like it’s bad just because it uses flashy editing techniques… I like flashy editing techniques, and I fail to see how that makes a bad movie, (people use that ecsuse for Tony Scott films too.) They also claim it’s a tarantino or ritchie rip off, but it only has small elements similar to both of them, much of the movie is very original…

Thankfully though, I’m not a proffesional critic, and I can sit down and just enjoy the film… I feel to many people have lost that ability…

That said, I didn’t like most of the deep emotional moment’s in the film, and felt most of them were out of place.
