Scorsese vs tarantino
Well I dont know about that I can watch Goodfellas and Taxi Driver easily a hundred times Hahaha!

i fully agree i watch goodfellas and casino more than every other film i own, but i find that i cant watch taxi driver all the time

taxi driver requires a dark mood

Goodfellas owns all though  8)

I know that scorsese has more hit movies, but tarantino hit the jackpot with pulp. it is, in my humble opinion, the greatest film ever made…period - and that says a lot. Seriously…how many of you really think that Citizen Kane is better than Pulp Fiction?

these dumb-asses said that schindler’s list was better than Pulp…and that Pulp was #8…wtf???

Pulp Fiction is awesome for its time, but for me Citizen Kane will always be better. It was made in 1941 and it still kicks the ass of stuff thats coming out now in 2006. Its pretty much untouchable as a film. I think even QT would admit that. In terms of pure moviemaking, its in a class all its own.

Pulp Fiction is awesome for a modern day film, but Citizen Kane is better IMO. Ã?

According to the audience poll listed below, Pulp is #8 and Citizen Kane is #23.

If you look at polls done by knowledgable film people, you’ll see a big difference in how they rate films. I dont care if John Q Public likes Toy Story more than Citizen Kane. Check the AFI’s Top Movie List. I think Kane is #1.

yeah…Pulp isn’t on any of them. These “knowledgable” people are the ones who keep trying to push shitty films on the public. Then a guy comes out with a clean dialogued movie such as “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”, and makes a fucking fortune - that is because these “knowledgable” people don’t know what the American people want. Fuck the “knowledgable” people.

Well theres different kinds of movies, theres stuff thats changed cinema in how it was made, and stuff that any mongoloid can watch and laugh at. We’re talkin apples and oranges. If you’re a filmmaker you look at films differently than Joey, the guy sellin hot dogs on the street.

I cant say ‘fuck the knowledgable people’ because they are the artists who create what I love.

Don’t you think that technology has had more to do with the way that movies are made than the rants of a fat man who made one good film? I mean, really…what kind of idiot takes pop shots at William Randolph Hurst and thinks that he has a future? And as far mongoloids are concerned, they don’t even watch movies in Tibet… ;D

No I really don’t. If technology was the only thing behind movies, there’d be tons of Citizen Kane’s out there. Orson Welles was a true genius and if he was alive and still making films, he’d be making some awesome stuff that would make Michael Mann and Michael Bay shit their HD-CGI panties.

he had plenty of time to make great movies in between his drinking binges and long nights at the all-you-can-eat buffets. I don’t seem to remember anything of substantial value, however. Oh, wait a minute…wait for it…he was the narrator on History of the World Part 2!

You mean History of The World Pt 1?

Anyways, Welles was the man in his day. Everyone who loves film knows that. If you don’t like his stuff, thats your personal perference.
schindlers list is better than pulp. why is pulp supposed to better? because of message!!??? historical and contemporary relevance!!!?? cmon

i agree with you though that list is just crap. first of all, most of the films are american films. secondly, lord of the f**king rings is not the fourth best movie ever made!!! snow white and the fvcking seven dwarfs is not the best animation!!! and triamph of the will is not better that battleship potyempkin. infact battleship potyempkin is one of the best movies ever to be made-its certainly better than twelve angry men. and the english patient, gone with the wind and saving private ryan arecertainly not the best war films. (stalingrad, the downfall…those were much better than all of those movies.)

Lord of The Fucking Rings did win an abnormal amount of awards…on several occasions.

^ yeah, but the makers of the film also seemed to have an abnormally big budget for there film.

big budgets seem to help.
