[news] Grind House buzzer

Does it really matter if he’s got the script? you only got 2 months left to THE GRINDHOUSE!

OK. Stuntman Mike’s last name is Mikki. And he has a brother named Stuntman Bob. Thats all I’m saying.

Please dont say any more(sorry everyone)I want to be surprised when Im watching it.

No, but I don’t like in general threads where people say they review this or that script and then tell nothing new. It smells fake, but you’re right: it doesn’t matter.

And hey, Europeans like me have to wait a little longer for the more important GRINDHOUSE part. We’ll get Rodriguez in Feb. and Tarantino and the trailers not till August. So …

That really blows!

Sucks to be European these days dont it?

definitely >:( >:( >:(

I thought you’ve elected George W. Bush twice.

I’d rather be American than any other nationality anyday. America’s always been about fighting the scumbags that are trying to ruin the world. Be it Nazis, or Extremists/Terrorists. Someone has to do it. Dont act like Bush is so bad. Hes not. Like I said before, this isnt a regular war where we win one day and its all over. This shit is going to go on for decades. Bush just had the balls to step up and start the fight instead of sitting back and letting the next president do it.

LoL@Stuntman Bob

and Mike Mikki? What the Hell?..

I dont know. QT makes up weird names. Its like Beatrix Kiddo.

My fave girl in the script/film is Arlene (Vanessa Ferlito) Shes a hot babe. Shes the one shaking her ass in the trailer.

Beatrix Kiddo is a badass name, I think.

But I’m sure Mike Mikki will all grow on us as well.

The great thing about Death Proof is it just goes against the rules of the standard 80s slasher film. It also mixes up the rules and goes in weird directions. Definitely another Tarantino Genre Reinvention. Really awesome stuff.

“Part of my fun in doing genre cinema, since everyone knows the rules well, whether unconsciously or not, is leading you down a road and giving you all the information that you’ve gotten in other movies, and then using your own information against you, […]â€?

(Quentin Tarantino in The New York Times)

lol

i already posted this somewhere else but here’s the skinny for you kids.

this month’s Empire Magazine in the u.k./Ireland has a few pages on Grindhouse. Nothing really new and the stills used are the ones that have been out there for a while.

They talk to QT on the DP set. highlights:

He says he’s aware that the u.k didn’t have grindhouses per se. but was aware of double horror features in the 70s where one was fantastical like say a zombie or vampire movie and the other would be more realistic and that’s what he’s trying to do with Grindhouse.

‘Robert’s movie is Horror- it could never happen, mine is TERROR-it could’.

one more important thing: QT says that Death Proof takes place in the Reservoir Dogs/Pulp Fiction universe. NOT the Kill Bill ‘movie-movie’ universe. ‘None of these girls would ever meet anyone from Kill Bill’

QT: ‘‘This is the Quentin universe, not the Kill Bill world. These girls would never bump into characters from Kill Bill.To me, this is not fantastical. You COULD get a car to do this. You COULD meet a guy like Stuntman Mike and if you do, you’re FUCKED.If he’s coming at you at 100mph, there’s not a damn thing you can do’.

He also mentioned that

#POSSIBLE SPOILERS?#

at least four times during the shoot, the film has even surprised QT himself, switching from rock n’ roll movie to girl-gang movie to road movie, all while retaining that distinctive rat-a-tat dialogue.

He also describes Stuntman Mike as a ‘sick, devious son-of-a-bitch’.

Remember way back QT said that The Wolf is the only character who could jump from the Real World universe to the Movie movie Universe? Well, theres another character who can do that now too: Sheriff Earl McGraw.

yeah that’s what i was thinking too. but in addition Earl mcgraw can also…COME BACK FROM THE DEAD! LOL

Yeah but that just means these films take place BEFORE FDTD.

In regards to the films having Missing Reels, I figure it this way: I think its meant to be irritating, but then others will find it kinda cool because it will provide a mystery much like what was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction. Ya dig? QT will never tell us what happened in his missing reel. Itll be up to us to figure it out.

if the ENTIRE crash scene was the missing reel , i wouldn’t know whether to laugh or cry!

i could practically FEEL the big grin on QT’s face and him saying the words ‘mission accomplished’!

I doubt QT would cut out the coolest crash scene in the film. I’m thinking it will probably be near the end. Holy shit, do you think he’ll cut out the fucking huge sick as fuck crash scene? That’d take balls. I think id def be pissed too if he did that. Think about how many people would start screaming out loud in the theater if that happened. EVERYONE.
