I just got this movie in the mail today and boy was i pleased. Now i know why Kill Bill was inspired by this movie.
Who else has seen it and what did you guys think about it.
P.S. I am a huge asian cinema fanatic I ordered again off amazon Lone Wolf and Cub 2: Baby Cart at the River Styx and Zatoichi the Collection.
This is one of my favorite asian movies.
mine too.

I did feel like Tarantino was borrowing a bit too much. Most of it was okay, but the ending was a bit problematic. I don’t mind him borrowing images and dialogue, but using Flower of Carnage in the snow garden scene (which was already very similiar when it comes to images) just gave the scenes too similiar feeling. It felt a bit bad, especially since the ending of LS is so great and one of the most classic moments in japanese cinema…
i bought this moive today, gonna see it tonight! >:D
I’m sure that you’ll like it.
I’ve got vol.1 coming this week hopefully, cant wait to see it ;D
Yeah i saw this pritty recently and Hung Fist kindly pointed me in this direction, yeah this was a great film but there were some plot elements that bothered me ie the fact that the main character can supposedly remember her birth no one can remember there births it just made the characters desire for vengeance seem unfounded when there are plenty of other reasons that could have conditioned her into the killing machine - and that because its just outright vengeance it makes it a little difficult to relate… she basically only has any humanity at the very end… but that’s really fundamental to the story cold killer + humanity = pain to put it bluntly.
Now that’s out of the way i could go on about how much i liked the film and why but i don’t want to bore you… what the hell - she’s already hung but why not cut her in half?, i love the blood in that to though realistically there would be a load of organs and stuff it wouldn’t be that pritty but who cares its cool!
Lady Snowblood is a classic, but then again, everything that Koike touches is a classic. Hanzo, Lone Wolf and Cub…

Yeah, i felt pretty much the same way… But I don’t think any less of Tarantino, i just try to think of them as two entirely separate films…

I just was surprised the scenes were so different from one another. I read that the scene in Kill Bill and the one in LS were practically the same, when they weren’t I was just happy
The first one didn’t blow me away as I thought it would, but I stilled loved it. Meiko Kaji’s screams at the end are beautiful.
I think this would be a good time to brag with my dvds a little. Just some random artwork and cover art pics (there’s a lot more, can’t be bothered to post everything)

So Sweet! Is the Japanese dvds super-expensive?
