Kill Bill Vol 1 DVD Spec

That’s what Region 0 players are for!

German DVD specs:

http://www.dvdinside.de/archiv/0204/270204-1.htm

ok the 5.6.7.8s footage, that was previously only announced for the German DVD will now obviously be on all regions. that means, also the UK and US DVDs.

Wouldnt it be funny if were all sitting her complaining about how we dont get the colour HOBL scene, then we get the DVD and theres an easter egg thats a branching of the uncut version?

…One could only hope… :’(

I got a copy of the DVD from one of my buddies. It’s a good transfer. Sweet ass Widescreen. The menus are kick ass. The chapter list is non-movement. Couldnt watch the special features for some reason. The main menu has “Battle Without Honor” playing, the chapters and special features has Crane/White Lightning. Goodness.

Still no full color HOBL scene. That one part makes the whole difference.

How’d you get a copy already?

My buddies buddy gets all these DVD’s months before they come out. The copies my buddy gives me are jus ones he burnt from the actual DVD. I saw the Nerd of the Rings 3 DVD and Last Samurai too.

Buena Vista also released that horrible Pulp Fiction DVD. I’m so tired of watching this on my computer (sound card sucks) that I’m willing to buy anything they throw at us.

Anyway, I’m sure 1 and 2 will get a gorgeous special edition treatment like PF and JB got from Miramax. Those are the best DVDs I own. Spending 40 bucks in the process is small potatoes.

What’s the release date for the uncut Jap version? The site I ordered it off has crashed and I’m left clueless. :frowning:

You can always pre-order the uncut asian DVD version from the internet! If you look at the forums, there are some links (I don’t remeber where exactly though!). As far as I know, the uncut asian version is region 2, but the picture format is NTSC. I’ll probably buy it in the following days.

Oh! And the Jap DVD release date is April 16

I just read this at a Dutch DVDforum, i don’t know the source but the guy posting usually doesnt fuck around.

• Engels Dolby Digital 5.1

Subtitles:

• Nederlands (optioneel aan/uit)

Extra’s:

• Geanimeerd menus

• Speelduur: ca. 111 minuten

Disc 2: De Extra’s

• The Making of Kill Bill

Unique behind-the-scenes

Commentary Quentin Tarantino

Commentary actors

  • Uma Thurman (The Bride)
  • Lucy Liu (O-Ren Ishii)
  • Vivica A. Fox (Vernita)
  • Julie Dreyfus (Sofie Fatale)

    Commentary producent Lawrence Bender

    • Muziekclip van “5, 6, 7, 8

    (‘Jayne Mansfield’ en I’m Blue’)

That might be believable except for the commentary info, they could mistake it for COMMENTS though.

Anyway if this is true I would have to buy both the japanese and dutch version

No need to get excited about the ‘making of’ I’m pretty sure it’s the same crappy thing they showed on mtv. Minimal violence of course

You couldn’t watch the extra’s on your bootleg because release groups rip those to keep the bitrate for the video and audio as best as possible. Almost all scene DVD-R releases are without the extra’s.

actually that isnt much more than the normal release, because those "commentaries" might just be some interviews. because COmmentaries are normally on the disc 1 (movie disc), not on the second one.

this might be a big bullshit "blown up" normal DVd edition with some additional TV footage

Right! The big one’s released when 1+2 are coming together. I hope they’ll do it right when 2 comes out and not 2 alone and then months later we’ll get the whole-thing-box. It’s possible though. Why selling it two times, if you can sell it 3 times? Damn bastards!

You can bet ur ass that they will sell Vol 2 seperately first and few months after that they come with the big package.

I agree. They wanna milk your fanboy wallet till you’re broke

Indeed. Miramax will try to rape you of every red penny that you will pony up.

And, shamefully, I am completely willing to let them do it.

or Buena Vista that is

I am afraid that the German DVD might have the wrong aspect ratio. The press release sais 1.85:1 which is definitely not shaw scope ;-(
