I love how they cant even say “Hot Beef Injection”!
Hahaha yeah I remember that
I enjoy watching edited films on television, it is pretty funny.
I found it so strange when I was in the US watching television. I think Big Daddy was on and the part where he was talking about the guy with the “old balls” was changed to “old butt”. Wtf? Nothing in Big Daddy would need to be cut on Australian television to show it prime time. It only has an M rating. And I in no way think that the US is a prude country. I wonder how it even got like that.
In a way I wish they would show movies uncut but I would probably miss the funny edited movies. The only reason I can think of for them editing movies here and not in other countries is alot of parents dont want their kids watching movies with nudity/violence/bad language instead of changing the channel or putting a block they just edit them cause they are to lazy to see what their kids are watching(wtf?)
I had a real laugh watching Fargo on AMC awhile back. I would like to catch the Big Lebowski and see how they edit "fuck’ out of that one. It holds the record for “fuck” I do believe.
“You see what happens Larry?! You see what happens when you FIND A STRANGER IN THE ALPS?!!..You see what happens Larry?! You see what happens when you FEED A DEAD SOLDIER…SCRAMBLED EGGS?!” - Big Lebowski TV Edit
Fargo TV Edits:
“We’ll go get something to eat and then go get a RUBDOWN”
“Total FRUITFUL silence”
“You’re a liar Mr Lundegaard…A FROOZEN LIAR!”
“Put that money on the ground now!..YOU FOOLISH MAN!!”
Yeah, I think it was Fargo that replaced ‘fuck’ with ‘frozen’. Convenient, aye?
Haha, oh man that would totlaly spoil a film for me.
Are all those channels on regular TV? As in not on satellite/Cable?
Over here in England, they showed Kill Bill the other day on regular TV at about 9pm and it was unchanged. Films on Sky are almost never changed. The funny thing is though, that they have started dubbing out minor swear words in stuff like Friends and King of Queens on Satellite/Cable which they never used to do before.

When it comes to film, we have a really liberal view. I can’t even believe that the Matrix has a US R rating. It’s practically a children’s film because of its recommended M rating here. The US just needs a new rating system or a new rating in between PG-13 and R so that its not so severe a jump between ratings. If there is one thing I am glad of is that, even though we have alot harsher censorship for videogames, our film censorship is liberal and involves informing audiences as opposed to editing or cutting.

Isnt that ironic that you have close censorship over videogames and not movies Hahaha thats fucked up.I hate when “TV Channels” pretty much decide what is okay for me to watch.

Well, yeah. The truth is that they aren’t harsh on videogames per se, we just don’t have an R18+ for videogames. So games that would be classified for adults in the US and the GTA Vice City and such are just cut or banned because they don’t have a category to go in. The highest for games is MA15+.
Actually cable TV has got a whole lot better in the censorship department. I can fully understand censoring some content in the hours that kids will likely be watching TV in their rooms. I have noticed that late night cable programs, on some stations, are no longer censored at all. Comedy Central and TBS are two stations Ive found that air uncensored content after hours and I think thats pretty cool. Just as I would not sell a child a Hustler mag or leave it laying around for them to enjoy, I think its reasonable for the Cable industry to clean things up for young eyes.
lol. World Movies shows R18+ films during the daytime sometimes. And all film channels show MA15+ films all the time and like Irreversible during the day, but Cable can have parental blocks on it, so it isn’t a big issue for parents watching out for their kids.
I would love for them to show movies uncut here in america but have a “contains nudity and bad language” at the beginning of the movie(including after commerial breaks) The only decent movie channel here is IFC.I like america and all but some things about america really get under my skin.
Australia only shows a warning at the start of the film. I noticed in America that they had warnings after ad breaks as well. It got kind of repetitive and annoying, but it prolly isn’t a bad idea at all.

I was watching TBC last week and they left that in. Sometimes they cut stuff, sometimes they dont. Depends on what channel you’re watching. Also I was watching a movie the other night (cant remember what) and they left in “Shit”. Thats unusual.
They actually say that alot at night.Take nip/tuck they say shit all the time.Maybe in another ten years we’ll be able to say “Fuck”
In England, it pretty much depends on the time of day. After like 9pm, practically every swear word is allowed.
Damn that pisses me off I wish they would do that here, after 9pm(or 10)anything is allowed and after midnight they show porn but that would never happen cause America is too “goody goody”.For god sakes they took Beavis and butthead off the air because of a bitching mom didnt want their children watching it and another bitch almost took Married With Children off the air as well just change the channel.
