Hostel Part II (2007)

He’s saying “Jeeesussss wept”, which is a bit different from “Meow”
[/quote]
;D Woopsie. But try saying “Meeeow” to the picture. It fits. I have seen some of Hellraiser 2, but never an entire film in the series. I remember Hellraiser: Inferno was the kind of film I would look at in the rental store and go “Wow that looks so violent! And it’s rated 18!! I need to see this!!” Of course I never saw it.

Watching adult movies when you’re allowed to just isn’t the same. :-</r>

yea hellraiser boxes where always so amusing when i was really young.

I absolutely adore FREDDY VS. JASON. It’s a fabulous FRIDAY THE 13TH movie and an outstanding NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET movie. My favorite NIGHTMARE films have always been 1, 3, 4, 7 and this. My favorite FRIDAY flicks have always been 1-4, before the aesthetic changed, then 6, JASON GOES TO HELL, JASON X, and FREDDY VS. JASON. But there are also films in the FRIDAY THE 13TH series that I consider “not part of the mythology” that I can watch and kinda get a buzz off of (of course, I can count JASON X as part of that too). A NEW BEGINNING doesn’t work as part of the mythology at all, it’s a speed bump movie as much as FREDDY’S REVENGE was to the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET series. But there are some great scenes in there that I love. For pure comedic trash, there’s nothing better. THE NEW BLOOD is the one I really feel sorry for. And I love the way Jason looks in this one. The spinal cord gash in his back is classic. Kane Hodder looked best as Jason in this film. And the MPAA reaction to the film ruined it. It robbed the movie of its soul. Now it’s at best a kind of USA Up All Night style classic.

I have no kind words whatsoever for JASON TAKES MANHATTEN.

While we’re on the subject of horror films, check this out: <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.p … 048.0.html”>http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.php/topic,8048.0.html</LINK_TEXT>

The Hellraiser movies I remember being the most violent films I’ve ever seen in my life. Nightmare on Elm Street series was pretty violent as well. I need to go back and watch these movies again one day.

One of my favortie sites, btw ;D

HELLRAISER and HELLBOUND: HELLRAISER II were very much influenced by Italian horror films, just as HOSTEL: PART II was (I had to bring the topic back, somehow). Barker was heavily influenced by Argento and Fulci, specifically.

…thinking back now, that makes sence.

Now, having said that, I wanna clarify. The box, the Cenobites, that’s all Barker, coming from his novella THE HELLBOUND HEART. But the way the two films were actually shot, the grainy feel (beyond the low budget), the rawness, and the ambiance of scenes and shots… very Italian… with a British touch, of course.

Ive read THE HELLBOUND HEART… though i havnt seen any of the films… they look pritty disturbing to me… i have heard from a friend that in the later films the Cenobites dimension is hell… but thats not the way it was in the book…

Ive also read Weave world , Abarat , Coldheart Canyon and one others

Apart from Imajica which I havnt read… I can say that his good ones are Hellbound heart and ( my personal preference ) The Thief of Always, its his only children’s book and so were spared his overt sex that makes some of his books awful…

yea barker is great, his raw head rex is great too and night breed.

Clive Barker is a fucking punk, I hate his movies. His fucking masterpiece is Hell Raiser for christ sake…not to mention all those pointless sequels

they are 100x better then your dumb resident evil films.

What, the first Resident Evil is superior to that fucking Brit, Clive Barker is a fucking bum!

barker is a horror genius.

I hate Rawhead Rex. Thought it was a real boring piece of shit. But Barker didn’t direct that, he only wrote the short story upon which the film was based. Barker fans say the story is totally different and a million times better than the film.

Off Topic:Looks like someones trying to start a fight. Btw Hellraiser is awesome and the “Cenobites” are so freaking scary. Also there will be a remake in the future and Barker will be directing how awesome it that?

I got the chance to rent Hellraiser 2 yesterday…

…and they still are. And of course watching an unrated VHS is always cool too. ;D

Oh my, where to start. I enjoy campy horror films as much as the next guy, but this film was simply a drag. Some dialogue scenes went on for far too long, it was quite obvious the director didn’t cut portions of it just because he wanted to surpass the 90 minute mark. Then there is the monster himself. One of the worst movie monster costumes I’ve ever seen, he seemed like a rejected band member from Lordi. There’s this particularly awful scene where this fucker (who’s supposed to be a kickass demon) breaks into a house and spends five minutes of the movie breaking some poor woman’s china. And Let’s not even mention the ultra lame ending. The only somewhat cool moment of the film was the five second scene where Rawhead Rex urinates on the insane priest to “baptise” him or some shit. Other than that, this is bar none one of the worst movies I have ever seen. And not in a good way.
