Hostel Part II (2007)

I love both of those films too 8)

Like GRINDHOUSE this film bombed at the box-office. Only a week after release I, to my own surprise discovered the film was pulled from theatres and replaced by 5 screenings of The Fantastic Four, and a whole bunch more replaced by Die Hard…what a shame, I guess I’ll have to catch the film on DVD.

Not quite true: Hostel 2 cost 10 million, made over 22 million already.

Grindhouse = 67 million, made only 25 million so far.

WRONG. YOU’RE WRONG! Check the link below, buddy boy!:

http://movies.go.com/boxoffice

16 mill is not bad for 3 weeks of release. Could have been worse. As far as I remember, the first Hostel made about 47 millions, half of it in the states, and the other half in the rest of the world. 47 / 2 = 23,5.

I find it strange that part II didn’t have the same success. The first one topped the box office. Does anybody remember what other movies were on the list back then? Cause the movies out now are though competetors money-wise.

that links says on the bottom of the page that the source of those numbers is boxofficemojo

And the current numbers are the ones I posted, check:

Hostel: Part II - Box Office Mojo

Grindhouse - Box Office Mojo

The competition is staggering, whose brilliant idea was it to release this picture in the midst of all these block buster movies. This is the kind of movie that should compete with Uwe Boll films or the inane slap-stick comedies that only fags go to see.

[/quote]That includes the foreign box-office, but here in the states it flopped.

It flopped because it was barely marketed. Blame the studios in charge for that one.

Maybe the movie completely sucked, but I wouldn’t know, the film was snatched faster than Paris Hilton’s uh…than her stuff. Cuz she’s slutty, yeah…

yea they still made a profit on the film it made 20 mil. in the US i think and it was made for 11.

Found this on another forum:

Eli Roth talks about porn?

I finally got to see the film… glad i snuck in… not worth my cash to see.

Once again Tarantino can do a comentary for this move but not his own(need a I say wtf?)

MAKE SOME GOODAMN COMMENTARIES FOR YOUR FUCKING MOVIES QUENTIN!!!

I wouldn’t be very surprised if there was one on the new Kill Bill DVD. But I wouldn’t be very surprised if there wasn’t one either.

My guess would be that THE WHOLE BLOODY AFFAIR, like the special editions of RESERVOIR DOGS, PULP FICTION, and JACKIE BROWN before it will have a subtitle trivia track. Otherwise, no, I don’t believe there will be commentary.

And since it’s a HOSTEL board I should add that I loved HOSTEL: PART II. It was an awesome exploitation flick. I dug the Edwige Fenech and Ruggero Deodato cameos, the dick cut had me in agony. I’m sure I’ll be discussing this film in more appropriate length soon.

Isn’t this like the third release of the original Hostel on DVD? I know I’ve seen two others.
