2 and a half hours may turn out to be more like 3 with the fake trailers are included.
I have no problem with length of what ever they finish up with.
but im still dissapointed Qt was building up a long thing…when grindhouse isnt that long is all.
Bring anyway, i dont care, i just wanna see it the way they wanna show it.
And by they i mean the way they made it to see.
OK, I just read that thing on the main page by Seb about the split.
I highly doubt that they would use extra footage. it would be great, but i don’t think this is gonna happen.
"there’s talk of adding footage to the films to make them longer individually"
who said that?
I only pray that Canada’ll see Grindhouse in the same way as “The States”. And I think that’ll happen given how similar we are in most ways. That and the fact that some Americans consider Canada to be the 51st state therefore…
You guys will def get the Double Feature. Canada is basically the USA, just quieter and more polite. haha.
I’m sick of the fucking weinsteins! taking the piss out of a loyal fanbase and exploiting it for more money. If they split them I’m boycotting the thing!!!
Again, it’s not the Weinstein’s fault…
i just want to confirm beyond all reasonable doubt that Grindhouse is DEFINATELY being released in the u.k as a double feature. saw the lovely official poster in this month’s empire (came out over the weekend) with the ‘two for the price of one’ tag.
no release date but it says ‘coming soon’. now hopefully that means Ireland too .

Awesome! If that’s the case I think my ass is covered too.
OH MY GOD!!! I just discovered tha its going to be released in Montreal Canada seperately cuz we’re francophone! SHIT!!!
What! thats total bullshit! Most people think of Canada as part of America, man sorry that really sucks
In Ontario and the rest of the english speaking states It’s gonna be released like its gonna be in the US. Thats dumb! Im not even a Quebecer Im just studying there!!! F**ck it! I think instead of signing a petition for the Weinsteins we should sign one for Quentin… If he knows his fans are so bummed out by the split he might use his power to change the companies mind! lol…
ok once gain, from what i found out this weekend from weinstein co and robert and quentin etc.
the international/seperate/dvd releases will be 20 minutes longer (PT) and 30 mins (DP) longer, respectively. that may or may not include the missing reels, and it will include a lot more backstories on characters, more action etc…
Robert and QT really wanted to cut that shit down and present a short and wild grind house release.
the UK will probably get the double-feature version, other countries, like Germany, will get the seperate releases
Tarantino.info: What are newcomers to grind house movies gonna take away from that experience? There’s gonna be a lot of people who don’t know what the grind house movies were.
RR: “They’ll just see something who they’ll think is very new and different and original, and we’ll look like more original guys, coz they’ll not know what the reference is.”
Yeah, so why the fuck don’t you release a double feature worldwide?!?
Havent seen any posters or publicity for the film in Ireland. Think that were gonna be getting the film split or much later than April 6th!
I think the same goes for the UK, April 6th is too close a date for the film to come out with the complete lack of promotion its had in Europe.
my fucking thoughts EXACTLY! >:(
Here’s a little bit of a interview with Eli Roth talking about Grindhouse.
Do you know what other movies that are being shot that are being released totally overseas?
Eli Roth: I think overseas the concept of a double feature–there’s some non-English language countries that have never had a double feature before. So to say come see a double feature. I think it’s so much conceptually for them to get around that it’s easier for them to sell it as separate. That’s what I’ve heard anyways.
That must really piss some of you guys off.
if it is the case that they’re splitting the movie in Ireland and the uk, i’m convinced its purely to make more money. Both countries are english speaking of course and are familiar with the idea of double features.
Speaking from an irish perspective i know that all films up until about 1970 were shown as part of a double and sometimes triple bill with newsreel footage often shown in between.
Its funny there were a number of cinemas in the more remote parts of Ireland up until about 1996 that while they showed mainstream movies had a pure grindhouse feel to them in terms of atmosphere. I remember seeing Free Willy 2 as a kid with rats running through the cinema and a leak in the roof.Thats not to give a false perception of Ireland now which like everywhere else is multiplex city but i wouldnt mind some smaller, traditional, grungy cinemas returning and I think the success of grindhouse could lead to multiplexes trying to offer something different. (QT says something similar in his recent radio interview on KCRW)
If the double feature is to ever return, Grindhouse must remain unsplit!
as far as I know, the UK will get the double feature
hilarious. just after ranting about Grindhouse’s non-appearance on Irish film release schedules, i check RTE teletext which informs me that GRINDHOUSE IS RELEASED IN IRELAND ON FRIDAY, 1ST JUNE! WOO HOO!
