And go buy the Fistful of Dynamite R2, foo
Sounds like theyve totally fucked up with the audio. Changing the fucking gunshot sfx? Get the fuck out of here MGM you cock suckers. Im not putting up with that shit.
TGTBATU is a movie that should only be fucking watched in its original mono track and only watched in its original theatrical version.
I hate it when they release only Extended special editions of movies with great extras but no choice for the theatrical version.
Who the fuck is to say this is Sergio Leones directors cut? IT’S NOT. IT NEVER WAS. NEVER WILL BE.
Definitely passing this up now.
It ain’t a bad DVD. GBU was the first movie I ever saw and so that’s one of the reasons I love it so much. (my dad likes spaghetti westerns and Clint Eastwood films a lot which is how i got into them) The sounds seems ok to me but one thing that bother me a bit is why they didn’t put the extended Tuco torture scene in, the reason they uses was because it was really bad quality but it looked fine to me.

Actually, I think this is the version that originally played in Italian theaters.
Ify which is better, the original or the extended version?
the extended version, the more GBU the better!!!
yeah. nobody is calling this a director’s cut, because Leone is dead and he didnt produce this DVD.
what they are trying to do with OUATITW or GBU, whatever, is coming as close as possible to how those films where shown originally on their Italian premiere screenings. with OUATITW they didnt succeed, they just released it totally uncut, but not the Italy-version. with GBU they inserted all those old scenes and tried to come as close to that as possible.
and as for the gun shot SFX: does it sound great or what? mono sucks, if you can have it blasting through your living room. i know its not original, but you can always switch to the mono track if you want
Well, I LOVE this new GBU version on the American SE DVD (which is one of the finest DVDs in my collection)! And it is the Italian screening version, so for me, its Leone’s Directors Cut. And its awesome. The new scenes perfectly fit into the film and make this masterpiece ever better. Still Leone’s best, but now actually much better. I love the scene with Tuco finding his friends.
cant wait to get it. but i lost my OUATITW DVD. if someone has a spare german or british OUATITW DVD, I’ll buy it
The greatest film from the greatest Spaghetti Western trilogy of all time. This is the very escence of what a movie should be. The quality of the DVD is beyond beautiful. They did such a marvelous job cleaning up the original film reels, including the never before seen deleted scenes. The second disk is PACKED with extras. From Pre-Production, to entire documentaries on the music alone. I think it was a great idea for the producers of the DVD to let out the deleted scenes with low quality picture. As it would have taken away from the movie experience. These scenes are included in a nice little montage of deleted scenes on the second disk. I suggest any fan of movies, leave the computer and pick this bad boy up. I give this one a definite 5 out of 5 stars. I would give more if I could.
its a must have for Leone fans
i just got this the other day.
am i the only one that couldnt tell a difference between the voices in the new scenes?
great movie. great transfer. i thought everything looked so clear and crisp.
i have yet to check out the extras though. what does everyone think of the case it comes in?

I think it’s a fresh idea and (i dont have it yet) if it prooves easy to handle it might spread
the only problem is i wish it had a real spine, kind of like a book. i dont like opening it as if it were a box. but that is just little nitpicking im doing
I have a few DVDs which are packages in the same way namely OUATITW, True Romance, Reservoir Dogs and Pulp Fiction. I personally prefer to buy my DVDs like this as they seem more ‘special’ and more delicate than the ones that just come in the basic DVD case which makes them seem cheap if anything else.

but OUATITW (us edition) is not a regular digipak, the others are
Most recently I watched this movie (new uncut version) together with a friend, and although I was a little bit of skeptic at first, the movie turned to be out really good and I was hooked in no time. I still can’t believe it, that at the final three-way-mexican-standoff they were actually staring at each other for about 4 minutes, but my friend stopped the time. Easily one of the best showdowns in movie-history, this scene was so chock-full of suspense it felt like only about 1 minute and a half.

Yeh and you can’t go wrong with Morricone “Il Triello”!
what i liked about the DVD:
the featurette documentaries were very informative and well made, and i like the job the MGM execs have done here
i also like the quality of the dvd, very nice.
what i didnt like about the DVD:
for a huge edition like this, the special features are still too few i think… there could’ve been more.
all in all a great fucking movie on a great fucking DVD
Buono, you got this yet??
I don’t buy dvds cuz my parent’s tv and player sucks balls. But i’m getting my new computer fixed in a few days, and that bitch has 5.1 surround sound with 4 speakers and a subwoofer. So i’m gonna have to cop that shit soon
