I disagree.
I saw the film and liked it. I was kind of at a crappy movie theatre so I will watch it again when it comes out on video. I liked the political undertones, the zombies, the suspense, and the dialogue. Kaufman was funny. One of his lines was like “in a world where the dead are coming to life trouble has lost it’s meaning” or something. I definately think this movie is better than the Dawn of the Dead remake. Maybe not as good as Night and Dawn but those films are classics and this one probably will be too. Time will tell. For all of those people who were expecting more, this film only had like a $15 million dollar budget, even though it looks twice that much.

Well, I hated the Dawn of the Dead remake. I had a problem with the zombies running, and that it wasn’t really a remake, it was full of different characters? It was more of a ripoff then a remake.

That goes without saying… but is that really any defence… I mean… one could argue being shot in the face is better than dying of cancer.
Of course, this movie is hardly being shot in the face.
Wish I could say the same about that dawn remake.

I don’t like the new Dawn. The zombies are retarded. It shouldn’t even be called a remake. The only similarity between the two Dawns is the use of a mall. And the original makes better use of it. I also hate that green look of the movie.

That was Simon Pegg (Shaun), atleast that’s who I think it is, cause in the movie he looks like Bub.
In an interview with George A. Romero he said he hated the Dawn of the Dead remake, haha those poor guys who made it must have felt awful.

Anyone else found the ending somehow disappointing, not to say, even stupid?
SPOILER AHEAD!!!
First the main-character stops everyone from shooting at the Zombies, then he says something like: “Let them go, they’ve evolved, they’ve gotta find their way”, I don’t remember the exact words, but anyhoo, HELLOOOO! They’re still Zombies, they didn’t grew vegetarian all of the sudden, they still EAT PEOPLE! Anyone noticed that besides me? It kinda spoiled the whole movie for me, which I found a quite refreshing experience until that happened.
