Easy Rider (1969)

Easy Rider is one of my very favorite films of all time. I have it on DVD and I watch it every other week. This is probably my favorite road movie of all time too. Theres something great about escaping from the daily monotonous grind and just being free from everything that holds us down. The movie still holds up so well even today, its one of those cult classics that is timeless. I highly reccomend it to all the movie geeks in here who havent seen it. If you havent seen it, WHY THE HELL NOT?!

Pop this 60s counter culture gem into your DVD player, sit back and enjoy. 8)

Word…

I was just at Blockbuster today and almost bought Easy Rider, but I bought One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest SE instead…Easy Rider will probably be the next DVD I pick up

I bought a few of my dvds at blockbusters too. You gotta search and you’ll find good stuff. New or used and at a fair price.

Blockbuster is okay…I never really go there to buy DVDs, its just when I’m returning something I’ve rented, they always catch my attention

Easy rider is 1 of my tops. I found toothpickvega has an excellent taste in movies as far as i’m in this forum. Easy rider is the 2001 of the road movies. Ultimate masterpiece!

’‘We did it, man! We did it! we did it! We’re rich, man! We’re retirin’ in Florida now, mister!’’

’‘You know billy, we blew it!’’

yeah, easy rider is a fucking awesome movie, i love the 60’s, and i love dennis hopper, and together it makes an awesome movie. one flew over the cuckoos nest is a great movie too. anyone who likes 60’s - 70’s films should also rent harold and maude, if u havent seen it, great movie.

There’ll be a new DVD collector’s anniverary edition of this classic which includes the “easy riders, raging bulls” documentary.

I will post pictures and links soon

when i fiisrt saw Easy Rider i did not really enjoy it becasue i thought it was out of time. but the second time i saw it a thought it was a fucking work of art. now i own it on DVD ( i did not get it at blockbuster)

i’ll buy the Region 2 UK super-pack. beats the region 1 us disc any time

I just saw this film a couple of days ago. I watched it with my father who wanted to see it again as he had last seen it in the movies in the 60’s. What was interesting was that my father didn’t like it anymore, he said it was dated and a lot worse than he remembered. But I thought Easy Rider was one of the coolest films I’ve seen for a long time. They don’t make anything that cool anymore.

Yeah, I soooo love that film. OOHHH It’s on cable tomorrow night, I try and watch it.

I haven’t got it on DVD yet! It’s hard to find around here. Yeah, I always read that it has dated terribly, I think its one of the best films of the 60’s. It’s definately in my top 3.

  1. Easy rider
  2. Rosemary’s baby
  3. Dr strangelove

Cause there´s hundreds and thousands of other great movies out there. And days only have 24 hours.

When I first saw it, I thought the ending really sucked, but now I like this film very much. And goddamn, their motorcycles are beautiful.

I totally loved the ending. I thought it summed up well what the film was all about.

I didn’t like it, it was like America, Jesus and Rock’n’Roll. Yeah and motorcycles. And those hippies there, who they visited, reminded of pikeys, it’s nothing cool, I’d better live with Ify’s parents than those guys.

I thought it was a big pile of snooze with a cheesy drug induced halucination center.

Just listen to Bob Segers Turn the Page instead.

Question: Has Dennis Hopper ever been in a good movie other than True Romance?

I liked it! can’t belive nobody has mentioned Jack’s cameo that was one of the best!

They say texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 sucks, I love the first one and I personally take it as the only TCM story with it’s end as the real end, those other movies where the description says “Leatherface chasing new people” sucks, as well as the remake, so I am never going to watch anything under the name of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, because it’s some needlessly gory piece of commercial shit. By the way I saw that the director is Dennis Hopper.
