The film needs american distributors, so there’s really no way of knowing when it will be released.

The Weinsteins - God bless those smart motherfuckers! Have bought the North American rights for the new and soon to be prosperous zombie film Diary Of The Dead for 2M dollars. Read more above!!!

Awesome! I sooo can’t wait. The poster looks so promising… I hope it’s 60s style Romero, not another BORING Land of The Dead

Well Land Of The Dead was a new effort but it’s definitely not boring. It’s just different. But yes, even Romero said he was going back to his roots, this won’t be your ordinary shoot 'em in the head movie, this is going to be a Hitchcockian type of film, hopefuly it will be in black and white, but I doubt it.

Here’s a great insightful interview on Diary of the Dead.

Me too, although Land of the Dead was…meh…

I have been waiting for this for a while, thank god Weinstein picked it up, finally another good zombie movie.

Land of the Dead redefinded “disappointing” for me.

its probably my least favorite of the series, but i really enjoyed it, IMO greatest zombie film of the 2000s.

Has anyone seen the cast list in Diary Of The Dead. Quentin Tarantino has a brief cameo as a news reader!

Simon Pegg, Wes Craven, and Guillermo Del Toro are in there as well!

There is a screening at the end of October at the Vienna Film Festival, but I don’t think I’ll go, because LandOTD was so incredibly bad.

Yeah, I think it’s been screening for awhile now. The reviews don’t look too good. I don’t

get why people are so critical of Land and Diary though. I mean, I loved the first three but

they really aren’t that good. They’re just fun entertainment.

That’s what makes them so awesome. Like Planet Terror and everything QT has ever made, they are made just for entertainment. That’s why I love them so much. Romero was quoted saying that with Diary he had the most creative freedom, he didn’t have that much creative freededom since Night appearently. Dawn And Day (not as much creative freedom appearently) are his best, imo. Because all those bullshit political messages are kept to an absolute minumum.

Yeah, I think that’s why Land didn’t really bother me. I think people just build

up Romero to the point that when he makes a movie people are expecting some

kind of masterpiece.

The premise for Diary of the Dead:

"The new film will pick up where the first one ends. Fighting their way out of a mansion through a horde of ravenous zombies, the survivors of “Diary” escape to a remote island only to be plunged into another battle with the dead."

Man, these kids must have brought a lot of tapes and batteries with them.

Where did you get that synopsis from?

Reuters.
