Bud's Demise and other things (SPOILERS NATURALLY)
I think Hattori Hanzo customizes each sword he makes. Beatrix has a lioness, Bill has a devil, and Budd has an inscription. Each for their own special meanings. For example, Beatrix has a lioness and at the end, "The lioness has been reunited with her cub, and all is right in the jungle."

This places an emphasis on the quality and power of the sword. The sword speaks for itself, it doesn’t need a logo. This makes each sword a unique and authentic work of art. Which is why you can’t compare two Hanzo’s.
Nope, the demon lion monster is Hanzo’s insigna for all swords. If it wasn’t, how could’ve O-Ren known Beatrix’s sword was a Hanzo? How could’ve Budd and Elle known it was a Hanzo?

I still like your idea, though.
Elle shouldnt come back as somone skilled at fighting blind… atleast not anywhere near as good as she was… if Elle where to be so skilled at fighting even when she was blind, as to be a challenge and a fitting oponent for Bea, then she would be practically super natural… with sight she was a challenge for Bea, if she was a challenge to bea without sight, it would be like she was even more godlike then the Bride, and that cant be, the Bride has to be the best of the best, IMHO
Nope, Bill is the best of the best. He could’ve killed Beatrix like 4 times but didn’t. Too bad he was drunk.

I think it wasn’t so much of a twist because even if you didnt read the script you can see it coming. No way would the psychotic and evil Elle Driver just hand Budd a million dollars like that. But the way she killed him was very very cool. With the black mamba.

Anyway when Elle Driver says to BUd that Beatrix was the greatest warrior she knew and that she deserved better we already see another side of her than the evil side so i think that if QT left her death the way it was in the script it would of been very very cool .

It was easier to see Elle’s backstab coming in the script (really, it was expected) because she was really a different character in the script. In the original Bill/Budd scene its Elle who drives Bill to the trailer, and Budd goes off on some tangent about her being a bitch and how they don’t get along…and there also Budd said something else to her in his phone call in the script to. Either way, the source of their troubles seems to stem not from their natural hatred of each other, but from their love of Bill. There was also some more to the hospital scene, too, where she went off on a monologue about “I don’t know why Bill always liked you the best…you were never that attractive” and then she basically goes off on a rant describing in what ways Uma Thurman is unattractive.

All in all, she actually comes off as a insecure, uber jealous she-bitch in the script, whereas she’s just a she-bitch in the movies. I guess a lot of that stuff hit the cutting room floor because it made her look more vulnerable or stupid than evil, though.

I disagree. I don’t think there is any evidence showing that the Lioness is his insignia on all his swords(It’s not a demon lion, the script just says “lioness”). This carving only makes sense with the bride. I don’t think you ever see the lioness on any other sword.

However there is evidence of different carvings on each sword. Bill has a demon or devil head and Budd has an inscription.

When it comes to proving to O-Ren that it was a Hanzo sword, O-Ren wasn’t convinced until after Beatrix sliced off the top of her head. Budd and Elle knew because Bill told them that Hanzo made her one.

I think that if the swords were all the same, then you would be able to compare two Hanzo swords by their blade. If they are customized, then they would be impossible compare.

If you can prove me wrong, I’ll be glad to admit it.

Well it was enough of a twist where it wasnt completely obvious to the audience exactly what she was going to do. I dont think anyone who didnt read the script knew a black mamba was gonna pop out of the suitcase.

As far as the script death of Elle, I’m very glad QT changed it to Elle getting her other eye ripped out instead. That way you dont have any of the DiVAS dying in the same way. Each had their own special form of death.

"Elle shouldnt come back as somone skilled at fighting blind… atleast not anywhere near as good as she was… if Elle where to be so skilled at fighting even when she was blind, as to be a challenge and a fitting oponent for Bea, then she would be practically super natural… with sight she was a challenge for Bea, if she was a challenge to bea without sight, it would be like she was even more godlike then the Bride, and that cant be, the Bride has to be the best of the best, IMHO"

Elle isnt better than The Bride (duh), and she shouldnt fight her again. But she could (if she somehow survived) be able to train Nikki to get her own revenge on The Bride. Its totally appropriate. And Sofie Fatale (another maimed victim of The Bride) could help too like QT said. I see Sofie and Elle becoming partners in getting revenge of The Bride and Nikki will be their vehicle for fuckin the Bride up.

I totally love this idea. That’s what I’m thinking might happen. Sofie will become Elle’s assistant just as she was once O-Ren’s and together they will teach Nikki. And I think that she will get revenge, before B.B. kills Nikki.

No need, I just proved myself right. I recorded an interview with David Carradine on Craig Kilborn and he talked about the Kill Bill sword. He says that Uma’s has a lion on it and his has the devil’s face. You don’t see Bill’s in the movie because it was stolen before it could be filmed and they didn’t have time to put the devil’s face on the new one.
