Best actor-director team

Just saw the QT on De Niro interview and he talked about Scorsese and De Niro being high on the list of actor-director movies :stuck_out_tongue:

Which are your favourites?

Mine are pretty obvious, I think most are, but I like to know other peoples favourites too!

  1. De Niro - Scorsese
  2. Mastroianni - Fellini
  3. Depp - Burton
  4. Uma - Tarantino
  5. Delon - Melville

2 of 5 mentioned by Tarantino as well

I like the combination Maddsen Tarantino even better than Uma-Quentin I guess but they haven’t done enough movies together to be sure about that.

Depp-Burton and Scorcese-De Niro are both on my list as well for sure.

Yeah I was surprised nobody mention them. I think it’s still a growing up team, prosmiscuous.

And as a Sofia Coppola geek ;D I have to add to all those lists, Kirsten Dunst - Sofia Coppola (even if I’d like to see a new collaboration between Scarlett Johansson and Sofia Coppola)

And recently : Scarlett Johansson - Woody Allen (or as Bleach would say, Woody Allen - Woody Allen)

Frances McDormand - Cohen Bros

Audrey Tautou - Jean-Pierre Jeunet

Clint Eastwood/Clint Eastwood

What do you mean by promiscuous?

But yeah, thay have done 3 films together now, and DiCapprio keeps growing. In The Departed, he reminded me of De Niro. Hope they work again soon, but I remember Scorsese saying he’s quitting Hollywood and his next film will be some small independent film.

OH I mean, they have done only three movies together for now, DiCaprio isn’t already De Niro, but I don’t doubt they will have a similar relation (still different but as much artistic and rich as with De Niro). It’s promising.

DiCaprio doesn’t get the artistic credit that he deserves.

That’s very true.
