Here is a video of a cute girl singing an awesome song, to calm you down:
Jeanette Por que te vas - YouTube
;D you’re welcome
haha I love how I’m labeled “fair weather fan” because I want the film to be great and not weak.
C’mon, guys reading this, it’s ridiculous isn’t. But I think it’s just pre-screening nerves coming out in them being so close to crunch time now.
Thanks Kenner. I needed that. lol.

It means what it means. Of you know, as you said, I’m talking about the rest of the world. IB is the decider of whether or not he has lost it, for me. That’s OK, if you’re IB will prove this. I said that too. I was talking about if it doesn’t and gets out and out terrible reviews then it will just add to what people are aauming. I don’t know where the confusion was.

I stopped paying attention to the fucking critics after Death Proof and I lost a lot of respect for Roger Ebert after giving “There Will Be Blood” a mixed review and praised “Juno” as if it were another Citizen Kane. A review does not prove a damn thing, because that is just the sole conjecture of one individual and they don’t speak for the rest of us, I shall decide wether the film is good - and of course it will be damn good, you know why?
Because it’s a Quentin Tarantino film.

I’m speaking in general consensus, c’mon… crikey. Not about one sole review, good or bad.

Yeah but if you add them all they comprise one big giant asshole of “this is why you should or shouldn’t see it”. I mean a lot of critics despised Pulp Fiction and Siskel and Ebert gave Reservoir Dogs two thumbs down. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t see it! Like I said, the critics don’t speak for us. We know our shit between shit cinema and brilliant cinema.
Kinick: What are you gonna say if a bunch of critics say its bad? I TOLD YA SO? Cmon man. This isnt a freakin sports game. If you really care youll forgo the negativity/bitching and go see it yourself then comment on it. Thats only fair.
The only reason I want to hear about it is because of how long Ive waited for it. Its not because I’ll base whether or not Im a QT fan on the damn critics. Thats BS. Use your own brain.
Oh, Knick, I wasn’t really commenting on your comments, I was just expressing my contempt for critics and their no good opinions. I’m my own critic thank you very much. Even when a film is a faliure you really know when the director cared passionately about it, that’s why I get angry when people say that Paul WS Anderson is a douche of a filmmaker; I mean the man cares about his work, I just think the studios intervene on his projects.
Anyway, back to more Basterds talk!
It’s the fear, Cyd. Being so close, if it gets all negative reviews am I gonna jump out and “TOLD YA SO” etc.
They act as if all the pre-reviews should basically be ignored or marked null and void. As if I’ve made up my mind on one or two reviews of similar stance. But it’ll not be the case if all the reviews are all positive, which I hope they are.
All the reviews wont be positive… I mean I imagine some of them saw Brad Pitt trying to act in that trailer…

In the words of Seth Gecko: Everybody be cool.

Cute ;D
I think Kinick’s got the best POV here. He’s a fan yes, but he’s also very objective about Qt. Most of us are incredibly biased. Kinick might be sailing in the right direction. But I think it all comes down to taste. I’ve never not liked anything he’s done. The same with Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, The Cohens. I just like everything they do, because their styles speak to me specifically. Whereas someone else may like a few of their films but don’t carry that same connection.

That comes down to something I talked with The Playlist about last week. Everything one is either a flat out fanboy or a flat out hater.

Its all about how you express yourself I think. Usually people either love or hate his films. When I go on IMDB I notice theres a ton of really straight up ignorant people. They either dont know anything about QTs style as a filmmaker or they just bash him outright. Then theres peple who get him and try to talk sense and are ignored.
Its very hard for me to tell when someones being very critical and when theyre looking for chances to bash QTs work. Maybe Im too judgemental, but I cant help it.
I have no problem whatsoever with people who dont like QTs films. They usually dont waste their time in here. They say hes a hack or one trick pony and forget it. I do get suspicious about people who say they only love Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction, but then dismiss his other films. I just cant take them seriously.
I dont really want to play the “fanboy or hater” game with anyone. Id much rather just talk about the films in an intelligent, fair way. But sometimes I see things being said that rub me the wrong way. And I cant ignore certain comments I guess.
Let’s not start another war of words here. Calm down, people.
No big deal, just explaining myself. Lets get back to Basterds business…
Honestly, I have seen so many great reviews for average movies recently, - like Die Hard 4, I’m still in shocked how a true movie lover can dig this movie, I feel seriously sorry for McTiernan -, and in the same time mixed reviews for some true hidden gem, that I must say I’ve lost faith in both audience and critics. I still don’t understand this so called event that was the Dark Knight too, nothing special if you ask me. Anyway, even if IB get so-so reviews, I will have to witness it myself to be sure. There’s just too much talent involved, as well as a great script, it just can’t be weak, sorry. The only thing I’m worried about is if the movie doesn’t reach his maximum potential for whatever reason, that’s all.
Oh, and people saying QT is a hack just because of DP is a hater for me, as well as people who deny the qualities of KB. KB might not be you cup of tea, but it isn’t an enough reason.
Oh I forgot, I predict the end will get hysterical cheers from the audience, especially now that I almost know the soundtrack playing over it.
