I think Kinick’s got the best POV here. He’s a fan yes, but he’s also very objective about Qt. Most of us are incredibly biased. Kinick might be sailing in the right direction. But I think it all comes down to taste. I’ve never not liked anything he’s done. The same with Scorsese, Paul Thomas Anderson, The Cohens. I just like everything they do, because their styles speak to me specifically. Whereas someone else may like a few of their films but don’t carry that same connection.

I know what you’re trying to say. There’s nothing wrong with being objective at all. However, on the net it is easy for someone to sound objective, when they are really just using it as a trick to illicit a reaction from a genuine fan. I don’t know what part of “If the reviews are bad it will probably be bad” isn’t clear in Kinick’s statement. Pete is right. That is a shallow statement and one that I can’t respect. Same goes for this statement “If this reviewer says it’s bad I’ll probably agree. cause I usually have the same views.” How is that being objective? I don’t see it.
I hope some of you aren’t waiting for a turnaround in judgement from Kinick cause it more than likely isn’t going to happen.
I eagerly await reviews for this film because I love to hear opinions, good or bad. I’m hoping QT gets a good response not because I want his film to be “better” than the rest, but because with good press comes more QT presents…, screenplays, and maybe 5 years later (I kid) another flick. I would never turn my back on a film maker I like because he drops a dud. Look at Guy Ritchie, two panned films that are now classics and now working on one of the most anticipated movies in the coming months, and this was AFTER those two Madonna films (lol).
If I may stay on the “sports” analogy, if you’re going to turn your back on a any team, I think the Tarantino Titans might be the worst one to do that with. And if trailers are any indication of this years season, I think Tarantino has enough offense weapons to crush the competition.
Average movies are getting great reviews these days because there are so many mediocre downright bad movies out there today in the market. If the critics see any halfway decent movie they latch onto it like its the 2nd coming of Christ… Its sad when you can only point to a handful of movies in any given year that are even worth seeing let alone worthy of being called great. These days movies seem so formulaic. The movie equivalent of McDonalds fast food. Familiar storylines that people go back to see again and again… Studios afraid to take a chance on anything new I seriously doubt a movie like Pulp Fiction could have gotten made today or those movies during 70s godfather chinatown more than I can mention never would have gotten past the planning stage

ahah. Hold up there, sir. I never said “If the reviews are bad the film will be bad.” I believe I said “If it’s bad, it’ll more than likely get bad reviews.” There’s a difference.

I chose my words carefully earlier. There’s nothing unfair about that statement is there… because the emphasis is leaning towards fact than personal opinion. (i.e. how you switched it)

LOL, you’re quite the cunning linguist. You’re slowly showing your true colors. You’re not fooling anyone.

What it comes down to is: Make up your own mind.

That is fantastic advice, from someone who isn’t willing to respect anyone’s opinion if it somehow goes against having this unconditional appreciation of Tarantino films.

Stop playing in to things. I’ve shown my true colours from the start. Go back and show me where I didn’t. As if something’s all coming out now. Did you not SEE me here when I first started posting?
