  • Ultima Tromba – Film: Occhio Alla Penna

  • The Young Man And The Boy

Yes, I just bought those on amazon.

the fever of gold (not sure about the english title) in The Good, the bad and the ugly, is the best piece of film music EVER written 8)

Le Resa di conti

Ecstacy Of Gold in the cemetery you mean?

that’s the one!

and when i say La resa dei conti i’m not talking about the main title from the sollima film, not the track in for a few dollars more.

I loved it too. There’s a sense of tranquility in Leone’s films. The ease of time, I like how he slows down his films even in the crescendo of the resolution. There will be no other director like him, especially in a western.

right and that’s what makes the final crescendo so powerful… you’re close to the characters but at the same you’re watching History being made, just like the final shot in once upon a time in the west. there is a shot i like even more in the good the bad and the ugly, toward the end of the film, Clint and Eli Wallach are walking down a path, talking shit, then they just make a right turn, the camera rises and you realise that they’ve just arrived in this huge military camp! it’s so powerful! the scene with the extasy of gold, is my all time favorite scene !

My favourite has to be Il Triello (The Trio) from The Good the Bad and the Ugly, followed by…

  • Per Un Pugno Di Dollari (A Fistful of Dollars) - Main Theme
  • Per Un Pugno Di Dollari (A Fistful of Dollars) - Titles
  • Per Qualche Dollaro In Piu (For a Few Dollars More) - Resa Dei Conti
  • Per Qualche Dollaro In Piu (For a Few Dollars More) - Goodbye Colonel
  • Il Buono, Il Bruto, Il Cattivo (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) - Il Tramonto (The Sundown)
  • Il Buono, Il Bruto, Il Cattivo (The Good, the Bad and the Ugly) - L’Estasi Dell’oro (The Ecstasy of Gold)
  • Once Upon a Time in the West - The Man with the Harmonica
  • Giu La Testa (Duck, You Sucker)

Le Professionel…

it’s a great tune indeed… it is ruined for me and for most of the French audience because this music was used in an ad for dog food… so everytime i hear it, i think of a fucking german shepperd running, and not of Belmondo. oh, well…
