i must have seen pulp fiction a million fuckin times but only the other day, as i watched it, i realised that i dont really know who marvin is.
i know hes the black guy who gets shot in the face, but isnt it possible that he’s the ‘our guy’ vincent refers to? he may be working for marcellus, he seems like maybe a new guy or something.
maybe everyone knows this and i just never noticed before.
Yeh Marvin also works for Marcellus!! he’s kinda like the “inside” guy.
yeah i guess he’s "our guy"
but how come vincent doesn’t know him, though
Maybe because he was in Amsterdam at the time when Marvin became employed by Marcellus

Marsellus has an assload of employees, I’m sure that Vince doesn’t know all of them.
thanks, i was worried everyone would think i was dumb for not realising before, i dont know why i didnt…

Not really sure about that. When Jules retires and the Butch affair comes along, Marcellus goes to the apartment with Vincent....perhaps because he didn't have anyone else he could send. And Paul is the one who informs him that Butch escaped. A fucking bartender had to inform a crime boss about the whole thing. That for me shows he didn't have too many guys employed with him.
The only reason Marcellus went to Butch’s apartment was because he took it so personally and wanted to kill Butch himself.

yeah i agree marsellus would obviously have loads of employees involved in different activities if hes a kinda mob boss. jules and vince had never met the wolf before, only by reputation
also phil lamarr who plays marvin does some voices for the excellent ‘futurama’, hes hermes (the dready accountant) and other random characters too

I think English Dave/Bob, I forget which (His name’s not Paul damn it) is more than just a bartender, he’s probably a close friend of Marsellus’ also.
script says its English Dave
i always thought that the “pop tart” scene occured after jules "gave up the life"
am i wrong?

Yes it is after Jules is gone thats why Vincent has Marcellus with him.
The Gold Watch chapter is actually the last chapter of the film if you watched it in a linear way.
I thought the last scene was where Butch and fabienne(spelling?) ride off on that chopper!!
Phil Lamarr is pretty funny on MAD TV especially when he plays himself in Gump Fiction

i dont think we said anything to the contrary
sorry i forgot that was part of the Gold watch chapter

Where can I watch this sketch?
I believe Vince knew about Marvin…why wouldnt he know about him? I am sure they were informed that he was the inside guy. Plus the shooting in the face is just an accident
I believe that both Jules and Vince are irritated by Marvin being a total wimp though.
