What to do with a finished screenplay

I’m damn near finishing one about two Vegas con artists trying to beat the mafia to a buried treasure somewhere in the Nevada desert, and I’m working on a modern-day Greek tragedy of sorts about a guy who, after living a crap life, wins the lottery and inherits a fortune in a 15 minute timeframe. Once rich everything he knew disintegrates until, broken and battered, he walks back to his old life. It’s a bitch finishing one without either giving up or plagiarizing.

I just start with writing a script. Its a drugsmovie. About transporters in drugs. They are kids.

but i won’t reveal my hand because

A. someone might steal it

B. someone might rip off the idea

C. someone might make $$$ off my idea

I’ve got almost the entirety of the Vegas one if somebody can tell me how to post it up here.

any suggestions

before you sell it read it out loud to yourself when you have the time, you might find som lines or scenes you dont like, then after you’re done with that you should ( like i said earlier) try and sell it. Good job

i’ve read it and not cos its mine i love it not soundin big headed

Well. Make sure it’s properly formatted, no spelling mistakes, no grammer mistakes or punctuation mistakes. And don’t forget structure. I had a big problem with that subject. Here’s a link to a forum link on that subject with some good info on structure. <LINK_TEXT text=“http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.p … 360.0.html”>http://www.tarantino.info/forum/index.php/topic,4360.0.html</LINK_TEXT>

Now read it again. Make sure it’s what you really want it to be.

After you’ve done all that. Register it with the WGA (writer’s guild of America). I prefer them, and I prefer the west coast. Costs about 10 bucks or more. Then copywrite it. That’s if you live in the states.

If you are overseas I’m not sure what to do, someone help me out with that.

Now that you’ve done that, you can enter it into different contests for exposure and money. Find out the names of smaller independant studio’s and production studio’s, as well as the big guys. Send them query letters, asking them if they would like to read your screenplay and see what happens.

It’s a process. Good luck. I’m on my way to that process this year.
