Ditto with Pearl Habour, really any Michael Bay movie! He brainwashes people into thinking he is an awesome director by just filling his films with random action shots of things being blown up! The dialogue in his movies are horrible.
oh definitly, front to back, filled to the tip with it, it’s not that i’m against brainless films of this genre, i’m actually a fan of it but the Armageddon script is so bad it’s painfull, bootleg heroic one-liners, throw-away material, all of it
Armageddon does indeed have some appallingly bad lines and the beginning where Willis is trying to shoot Affleck is so goddamn stupid. But also kinda entertaining
Now on the other hand, The Rock is quite good Bay picture but that one too is a little too pompous.
'Rafe I’m pregnant… I didn’t even know until the day you turned up alive… and then all this happened… I haven’t told Danny… I don’t want him to know. All he needs to think about is how to do this mission and get back alive. Oh Rafe, all I ever wanted was for us to have a home and grow old together, but life never asked me what I wanted. Now I’m going to give Danny my whole heart… but I don’t think I’ll ever look at another sunset without thinking of you… I’ll love you my whole life. '
That wee gem came from Pearl Harbour - brings a tear to a glass eye, doesn’t it?! ;D

it’s definitly Bay’s best, but that’s like being the prettiest McDonalds waitress, just because it’s the best doesn’t mean it’s good

Actually I like it quite a lot ;D
But talking of “brainless” action movies, nothing beats Con Air! 8)
It isn’t “so bad it’s good” for me either, it’s fucking good!
I don’t really even have those kinda movies, not even Plan 9. Well, if we don’t count the one me and my friends did years ago. Oh yeah and Commando might be walking on a tightrope of awesomeness with a fall to ridiculous badness but manages to balance ;D
Commando has always been 100% awesome for me, I enjoy it for what it is, not for what it’s tries to be, it’s badass and it’s great, entertaining, which is what all films should be
