There are kids that do that at peggster all the time. They will reply to an old thread with just a smiley or something. Most of them chill out after a month or so. Unless they are from the Philippines for some reason. But kids these days always post like crazy at first, then they die out and go away when they find something new to like.
As far as being a newb or vet, I don't get it. I've been a fan of QT for over half my life, which is longer than some people here have been alive. I'd never even thought of joining a fansite forum before 2006 because it always just seemed a bit weird and sad to me. I thought they were just for the uber-obsessed crazies. Then I joined the Nick Frost site, and realized the people weren't like that at all. It's not much different than being a fan of a sports team, and the people are pretty cool, barring some examples. Point being, just because someone had more free time or more steady internet connection, or admitted the extent of their fandom before you, doesn't necessarily make you less of a member or them more of a fan.
