WELCOME, INTRODUCE YOURSELF HERE (if you're new)

Welcome to the “Community” Basterd101. Hope you like all kinds of film, since Tarantino news is only 10% of this board it seems. But everyone here is pretty cool and most of us are on here daily, so don’t be a stranger.

Ok thanks, I’ll try and come on this board as often as possible.

cool. 8)

What kind of movies do you like, if you want to answer that?

Obviously all Tarantino movies but other than that my favourites are: Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, Casino, Fargo, No Country For Old Men, Alien, Saving Private Ryan. The list could go on forever. What about you?

I like some of those. I like alot of stuff. I go by directors mostly. Tarantino to Fritz Lang, Orson Welles to Jean-Luc Godard, Paul Thomas Anderson to Samuel Fuller. Some alive, some sadly dead.

Also a member on this board (F.W.) kind of pushed me in the direction of another great director in John Cassavetes (another R.I.P), that I have been into recently.

Ok so you go by directors. Im probably leaning towards Martin Scorsese when I go by directors. I mainly just watch mvies made in the 90s though.

Oh, hopefully someday you expand, but you are fine where your at right now.

But since I live in America I mostly want to see things that isn’t easy to find here, unless you order off the computer, like Godard films. I love french films from the 50’s through the 70’s and American film from the 20’s through early 80’s (not just Hollywood crap, we’ll get into that later ;D ). I love all different kinds of film, those 2 are probably my favorites.

So I see you like older movies. But im like more into newer movies for some reason probably because I just started watching movies hard out in the last few months. But once I get through al the "newer moves I’ll start on the "older ones.

That's fine, everyone here and everyone who started out in watching movies followed the same path. If someone says otherwise, they are full of crap. :D Everyone here probably had a "top 10 list" they hate now.

Pretty much. 8)

But you’re in a good place right now if you just started a couple months ago. 8) You can’t go wrong with Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, and Casino. Have you seen Mean Streets or The King of Comedy with De Niro by Scorsese?

Plus my fav band is The Doors. I got a tattoo of them and everything. 8)

New Zealand eh?

Mean Streets is pretty good but not as good as RB, TD and Casino. I havent seen The King of Comedy but have heard heaps about it being good so I’ll probably watch it one of these days.

I like The Doors alot but they arent my favourite band. I just think Jim Morrison was a badass.

Jim Morrison was pretty awesome. Sad that we don’t have a legend today like that. The last true rock Icon, love him or hate him, was Kurt Cobain.

Rock is pretty much dead nowdays. The only music I ever hear on TV/Radio is R&B or Hip Hop.

Yeap, but IF I have to listen to the radio, we got a classic rock channel. But I just buy cds and vinyls alot, so I listen to them. I listen to alot of stuff, Doors, Rolling Stones, T. REX, Guns N' Roses, Nirvana (though hate that "Grunge" label, I don't think of them like that), Alice in Chains, Pantera, Johnny Cash, alot of stuff.

I like pretty much all rock music but none of that pussy rock shit like FallOut Boy and Jonas Brothers (if you consider them rock). I like your taste in music but I havent heard of T.REX before. But my 3 fav bands are Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Lynyrd Skynyrd (even though there is only 1 original band member left).

T. REX was 70's Glam Rock (Think David Bowie, Kiss, Queen) but with a guitar god and singer Marc Bolan. T. REX had some big songs, they have one called Jeepster in Tarantino's Death Proof. But there other hits were "Get it on (Bang a Gong)" and "20th Century Boy" but I like there lesser known songs.

Well here in the States, it's 2 in the morning so I better be getting to bed. I guess I will talk to you tommorrow (for me, prob tonight for you). Talk to you later. 8)
