Im not sure if anyones already posted a topic about this movie, if so, sorry bout that. This film sounds incredible. Im not the biggest PTA fan but I really want to see this one.
What is PTA and who’s directing There will be blood?
Are you kidding?
gulp haven’t heard of it sorry
PTA = Paul Thomas Anderson: Director of Boogie Nights, Magnolia, Punchdrunk Love.
There Will Be Blood is his latest film. It stars Daniel Day Lewis. Its supposed to be incredible.
Punch Drunk love the Adam Sandler film? I remember seeing that one, but I don’t remember it so well. Is he related to Paul WS Anderson? He also made Crash, I think.
Yeah PD Love is the Sandler one. I dont think hes related to Paul WS Anderson. Crash was by Paul Haggis.
I know that ;D (one of my fave films)
But I read another script called Crash, maybe it went through a title change or something.
Are you a Paul WS Anderson fan? I think his films are sort of like really expensive exploitation films. Like the movie soldier which starrs Kurt Russel was a bit Carpenteresque. He’s not much of a writer but the guy can direct, the first Resident Evil Film looks fantastic. And I also remember watching Mortal kombat way back then, haven’t seen it in years but I remember enjoying it.
Oh the “Crash” I was talking about was directed by Cronenberg.
Crash by Cronenberg is twisted. Its where QT got the idea for Stuntman Mike I think. The whole car crash/sex fetish thing.
Im not a fan of Paul WS Anderson really.
Well I am finally seeing this movie this coming week. Can some of the ones who has seen it tell me what they thought of it. Thanks.
Well, it’s got 8 Oscar nominations, so it can’t be the worst film ever made. Haven’t seen it yet, due to the fact that it’s not released over here before February 15th.

Very few people are, haha!!
Anyway, I am well looking forward to this. This new wave of Revisionist Westerns (Neo-Westerns, whatever you want to call it) has really restored my faith in film. It comes at a point where very few films appealed to me. I was feeling slightly isolated, that I couldn’t look forward to films from my favourite genres. I hope the critical successes of these films (especially Jesse James and No Country) inspires other great filmmakers to follow suit.
YEAH!!! Seeing preview followed by live satellite screening of Q+A qwith Daniel Day lewis!

I just saw it yesterday. Amazing movie. I mean really amazing.
I have a problem with people saying this movie can’t be one of the best ever since it is only carried by one actor. Now let me ask those people, would the Godfather be as epic without Brando? Pacino?
Would the Shining be as great without Jack? Would Scarface be as good without Pacino? Would The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly be as good without Eastwood? Pulp Fiction without Travolta? Well maybe the last one could. But you get my point. A movie can’t be Epic if the main character isn’t as Epic as the film itself. Think for a minute about an Epic movie, and tell me you can’t think of the main actor while thinking about the film. You can’t. A movie is epic when you can always remember that character that will stick in your mind forever.

Empire said that it would probably be the best American film of the year, if not the decade. And that it was a true masterpiece. It comes out in Australia on February 9. I can’t wait.
One word…AWESOME!
^ And Amazing!
