Does one like The Transporter or Ronin, American films based in France?
Ronin was awesome, although a little slow paced.
Transporter was cool for the first 30 mins, and the rest dragged on for an eternity. I didn’t care about anything that happened in this movie, and I kept waiting for the stunts to end.
Transporter was stupid fucking shit like hoilday said it starts good but then it repeats itself over and over and then becomes another hollywood cliche action flick.
Ronin was an awesome movie good story and good acting. Robert De Niro proves he can be in an action flick.
I havent seen all of Ronin, only saw bits and pieces on tv. Transporter is fuckin awesome for the first 30 minutes or so like the 2 others said, but then it gets kind of generic. I still enjoyed it but thought it could have been better.
i agree, i get drawn to watching Ronin but im not sure why, Transporter was okay i guess, much the same though.
I thought of an idea for film set in France, but im writing my current one - its a shame you cant just pitch an idea to someone its kind of frustrating, actors can do a show real of about twenty or just a photo portfolio, with screenwriting you have to spend any thing upto a year writing a screenplay - sheesh.
But im still working on my first one which I much prefer, hopefully I can get someone to read it, if they like then i can tell them about this one.

Like they said Transporter kicks ass for the first part. I love the intro, I love when he finds the girl in the trunk, I love the setup, and I love when you kick those guys asses, then I fell asleep because everything after that just dragged.
I was conveinced by a very relyable friend that the Bad guy in the Transporter was the funniest looking man of all time. The only reason i wanted to see it was to see how funny he looked…i was disapointed.
I didn’t even finish the Transporter but i didn’t care. It stars Jason Statham who plays the same ass hole in every movie he’s been in; Lock Stock and two smoking barrals, Snatch, the Italian Job, and this shit pile.
But Ronin was cool.

He does a pretty kick-ass job of playing the same asshole though. A lot of actors are famous for playing the same asshole: John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Governor Arnold, Takeshi Kitano, etc.
Not only is he a crappy role player but he was in the Transporter. At least Eastwood and Wayne were in some great movies. This guy was in nothing memorable except LSatSB which i haven’t seen yet…but i know he’ll be the same exact guy he is in everything else. He’s never not been in a crime movie.
oh man, Ronin was the biggest piece of shit I’'ve ever seen. The only thing that was good about this movie was the street shootouts…but Heat’s are better.

Word to that. I think he is pretty cool, despite the fact that I didn’t like The Transporter.

Kitano isn;t an asshole. Hes Just a brute who gives justice in some unfair ways…

I’d go with that, although i havent actually seen the Transporter yet. But come on, in one ad i saw, he deflected a rocket with a tray! WTF! I like Jason Statham but that movie must be pretty shit.

I swear they took out that part in the theatrical version (and maybe video), because i remember seeing it on the commerical but never in the actual movie
i got Ronin on DVD here.
it’s definitely worth watching and well made. but I think it was pretty boring actually, it wasn’t tense or thrilling or anything. it was just a quiet, slow paced espionage film with a great cast. but nothing awesome.
Ronin was well worked but nothing very exciting, it was okay I guess, its the French influence though - they have a very laid back mentatility, have you ever seen a French person walk - well they do eat snails.
Ronin was a great movie. Anyone who dosn’t like this movie should die.

You guys are all mixed up. I called Jason Statham an ass hole because…umm…I coulden’t think of anything else to call him. Then Deaner called him an ass hole reffering to the name i had given him. I will make more sence if you read my first post in this thread.
