The Rocky Horror Picture Show

I fell in love with it again a while ago, and just two hours ago, I happened upon Eddie’s song ‘Hot Patootie’ when searching for Meat Loaf songs, and I’ve been listening to the RHPS soundtrack again ever since. I’ve decided I’m going to Austin Saturday so I can watch it live AGAIN! It’s the most brilliantly awesomely shite film EVER! I love it!

Fuck all!

Anyone else ever gotten into it?

I like this movie a lot, but it has nothing on “The Apple”, which is a musical of even greater camp value.

By “live” you mean the theater play? I watched a recent play, helmed by the original creator in Vienna once.

Oh, no, not “live” like that… I mean like “live” as in at the theater, with a cast acting out the scenes as the movie goes… I WANNA see it live for real though! Soooo Bad. Anthony Stewart Head, the guy that plays Giles in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, used to play Frank Furter in the live play… He was AWESOME!

Oh my goodness, RHPS is easily, hands down, in my top 3 favourite movies of all time. I first fell in love with it as a child. I was a bit weird, Disney movies didn’t interest me, I was all about musicals.

I can remember watching it for the first time when I was about 6, and cowering in my dads lap when Riff Raff first opens the door and creepily goes “Hellooooo … ?” And I’ve pretty much been obsessed ever since.

Amazingly, an old theatre about an hour where I live, does showings of the film every 3 months or so, with the floor show as well. One of the most fun nights you can ask for, if you’re a Rocky Horror fan! It’s the most fun, kitschy, bizarre movies EVER! I can never get sick of watching it.

There was a sequel made called Shock Treatment - starring SOME of the original cast members, but the story veers off into another dimension completely. That said, I still loved it, there’s some really catchy songs, and funny one-liners, but majority of Rocky fans shunned it, as it didn’t keep with the standard of the original.

Now I’m just counting down to my RHPS themed 21st birthday next year!!

I was very young when I discovered this gem.

Pat Quinn is a legend.

What are you doing here, Private Cyd? Back on the battlefield to post more reviews! Move!

Im more of a Phantom of The Paradise man myself but I like RHPS too.

She is also my favourite character in RHPS, even though she only has about 3 lines of dialogue in the whole film. But the stares she could give - whoa mama! Haha wouldn't wanna get on her bad side.

Gotta love Meat Loaf in there as well, too bad he gets hacked to death in a freezer.

Meat Loaf and Pat Quinn fucked each other during the making of that movie. Fact.

Yes, Sir!

I’d fuck Meat Loaf! Even now that he’s all old and baggy. Totally hit that shit.

Anyway, I love Riff, Eddie, and of course Frank. So great.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! Are you serious? How did stumble on that gem of trivia?

I would have picked him for a “Little Nell” (Colombia) type. Haha, but that’s just based of character chemsitry. Although, my little bit of trivia - Little Nell was the previous owner of the apartment Heath Ledger died in.

Oh man, that’s too far. I love the man and all, but not even in his trimmer Eddie days, would I get in his pants. Perhaps coz he reminds me of one of my uncles … and now it’s sounding creepy.

Did anyone see the “sequel” Shock Treatment?

Re: Pat/Meat. It’s common knowledge among Rocky fans and Pat’s husband, actor Robert Stevens confirmed it in his biography.

I saw Shock Treatment one time, long ago. I wasn’t impressed. However, I do plan on ordering the DVD.

And Meat Loaf used to be a sexgod! Fact. Not so much now, but what the hey, I’m just not that fickle. ;D

I’m not being fickle, just saying that the man doesn’t exactly make MY thighs quiver, haha.

Yeah first time I saw Shock Treatment I was more confused than anything, but I love it now. It’s just got some really catchy songs that suck you in. I wish the DVD had some awesome extras though, that was disappointing.

If Shock Treatment had a commentry with Richard and Pat, like Rocky did, I’d buy it.

Yeah that’d be cool.

I’m not too sure what to think of MTV supposedly doing a re-make of Rocky. It would be a terrible shame to see such a cult classic, be turned into fucking High School Musical. Why can’t people just leave things alone?

Oh, I wasn’t accusing you of being fickle. I was saying that my standards are fairly easy to meet.

If Quinn and Richard were in Shock Treatment, it would’ve been so much better.

As far as the RHPS remake… It’s supposedly a go. There is a lot of speculation going around. Some people think Russel Brand should play Frank. I can see that.

They were in Shock Treatment.

Pat played Nation and Richard played Cosmo.

Sorry. I’m embarrassed. I only saw it once, so long ago. I really need to buy this. I think I was thinking of something else.
