The instrument that bill plays?

does anyone on the entire web know what the hell the name of that flute like instrument that bill plays? i’m sure theres a mad trivia nut out there who can answer this one.

It is a flute. It is one of the flutes he used to play in Kung-Fu, he (David Carradine) used to play it on the set of Kill Bill and QT though it’d be cool if it was in the movie!!

Hi and welcome to the board.

You can find the answer of your question on this board. The admin and Toothpick Vic Vega aka Winslow Leach aka Pete discribe stuff like this here:
Silent Flute (AKA Circle of Iron, Richard Moore, 1979, US). David Carradine plays the Silent Flute in Volume 2
He made the Flute by himself.

Maybe a little bit off topic, but: D. Carradine is very talented when it somes to play instrument, same goes to his bros. They write their own songs and play in bands.

Here you can find an interview with David and Keith Carradine:

The long flute that David had in the camfire seen was one that he made, the very one that he used in the movie Circle of Iron (the Silent Flute). The small one was the one that he used from Kung Fu.

yes Ify it’s quite obvious it is a flute. thats not what i was asking. i wasking for the name of the type of flute seeing as how there are about 100 some odd different asain flutes. as to CPS thank you very much for the help it’s been most usefull. i’ve been wanting to construct some flutes from bamboo shoots that i have and merely was trying to find out what kind of flute it was so i could start with a floor plan.

I read somewhere about Carradine explaining how he made the flute.

Unfortunaly I´m not sure, if it was in an interview or in his book. I could try to search it for you.

But unfortunalay I´m very buzy this days.

I can search for you only in some days. If you want me to take a look, send me a pm or post here.

Really sorry, but I have so much work this days that I can not help faster.

Well when you said “flute like instrument” that means it isn’t a flute but is like one. Don’t get angry with me cos you don’t know how to write!
