The Cast of Inglourious Basterds

DP wasnt crap, it was a good movie, but on QTs Best Of List, it doesnt belong in the Top 3. I think when people do the QT Film Tribute his most lauded films will be Pulp, Kill Bill and Bastards. That is unless he does one more big scale film before he retires.

Back on topic: Cast is looking good so far. Lookin forward to hearing who Shosanna will be.

I have a hunch that Bastards is going to blow them all away. We’re talking about Oscar’s BABY!

hahaha fuck the oscars, though

yes…although most people have this preoccupation with Oscars and what other people think about them - it is an artist’s nature.

I bet QT wants another Oscar baddddd… ;D

This does not have Oscar written on it.

Kubrick never got an Oscar in his life and he is considered one of the best.

Who gives a shit? Just go see the movie or dont. Jeez.

Well, Yasmin, we’ll have to wait and see. But who cares about the Oscars when QT is making another movie, rejoice brothers, it’s gonna be a good year…well, next year.

Yeah, why would you care whether it’s Oscar material or not? Aside from Pulp, I don’t think any of my favourite movies won Oscars. Empire Awards though, hellz yeah!

what in the fuck does that have to do with anything? Kubrick made some twisted shit that scared a lot of people away.

Only a naive person would think Oscars don’t matter to Quentin and his carrer. An Oscar is EXACTLY what he could use right now, after he is not the hot property in Hollywood anymore that he was before Grindhouse/Death Proof. Although a commercial success in the same league as Kill Bill should do the trick aswell one should think.

I too would love it if Quentin could do whatever he wants forever, but that’s not how the world works.

I pray that it becomes both commercially successful and a revieves a great critical reception.

If the film gets an Oscar, that would be great. Is that what Im thinking about right now? Not at all. Im more interested in the cast and how the shoot goes. You know, movie related things. Not fuckin AWARDS and that BS.

So what if it doesnt get nominated and we still love the film? Then what?

Doesnt matter as long as we really enjoy it. Lets take this one step at a time. Lets forget the awards and focus on the film itself.

Well it sucks that I still can’t modify my first post (Seb what’s going on with that?)

But i think it’s pretty safe to assume that Diane Kruger is IN.

DIANE KRUGER as Bridget Von Hammersmack

I can understand Pete missing my point, that guy would miss a train if he was standing in front of it, but not a group of you. Why does the film have to get an Oscar… is it QT who needs one or his fans who need to have a validation that he’s a good filmmaker. An Oscar shouldn’t mean fuck all. I know he’s good, an above average filmmaker, and and giving him an Oscar doesn’t have to verify that for me.

this is true. I mean…it’s the difference between living on a street corner and living in a home with air-conditioning and running water. Don’t think for a minute that Quentin Tarantino doesn’t sit back and look at his accolades and say “I’ve made it to the big time”. There’s nothing wrong with it either.

We all know Oscars are good. We dont need to discuss the theories behind Oscars and films that get them or dont. We hope QT gets one for IB. Great. I want to talk about the cast and the film.

The Oscars are overrated. As the years go by, less and less people give a shit.

Dammit Pete, do you really not get it?

Do I need an Oscar? No. On my list of 75 fav. movies there are only 2 Best Picture Winners. I’m talking about Quentin’s career.

I love Death Proof but it didn’t make any money and was a blow to QT’s status as a Hollywood wunderkind.

All that matters to me is that Quentin can make the movie he wants the way he wants them with the budget he needs until he stops making movies.

No, I know what youre saying, you hope QT gets an Oscar so it brings him back so he can keep making his films after DP flopping. I feel the same way. But right now Im not really thinking about awards or that type of stuff.

Gotcha. Yes it is too early for heavy awards speculation.

I also want to add: HOLY SMOKES, does that Diane Kruger gal look good in that picture! I hope she also brings acting skills along.
