I think this generation may very well be remembered as the youtube generation. Any bum can now have a short period of fame just filming himself uttering bullshit on his camera while locked in his parents’ basement. Like that transvestite that became famous around the world because she cried for Britney Spears on camera while lying on her grandma’s bed. The whole concept of fame has been cheapened to a new extreme. Why should you work hard and sweat just to be recognised by the world when you can become famous just by being the laziest bum in the world? Things aren’t what they used to be.

Why become famous at all, see all the media today is complete bullshit. All they ever do is talk about Paris Hilton and all the other skanky whores. I get my news from the newspaper. I hate famous people, except for filmmakers who are true artists. And MillaJ - she’s fantastic. Oh and Zach Braff - he’s hysterical “Eaaaaaaaaaaagle”

This is so true, for an example that girl(I believe her name was ? samson)she goes into saying how Britney spears is a f**king genius and so on and now everybody has seen her. Youtube is great but at the same time its very stupid.
People rape and ruin everything. YouTube has its benefits (all the cool film clips/interviews) we can watch. The downside is its open to every retarded goon that can upload a video. If youre using it for good purpose (art), its one thing, but if youre using it just as a way to get famous and have your face seen by everyone, it sucks.

But man, what’s the significance of that fame? In the long run it’s just as big as coming to school with a tattoo to impress classmates for a day or two. Doesn’t worry me at all, it’s only positive that you have easy access to the clowns and freaks.

That Britney Spears fan actually signed a deal to host a reality show, only because of that stupid video which made her famous around the globe. In today’s generation it’s trash, not talent, that sells (just look at the popularity of all the reality shows present on tv). And youtube is the easiest, cheapest and most efficient way possible to market your trash

and it even goes on in politics. Take Abraham Lincoln for example. He was probably the most intelligent, moral, and effective man to ever hold the office of President of the United States…and he wouldn’t have a fucking chance in hell if he were running for the office today. Now we look at pointless bullshit as a way of judging who we should vote for. “Is he pro choice?”…who gives a fuck! “Is he black?”…no, Obama is only half black! “Did she really suck Bill Clinton’s dick?”…No! She’s a lesbian! The list goes on and on.
Yeah the 70s, 80s and 90s were the best time for music, IMO. Sure each decade had their crap but for the most part they gave us awesome bands like Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Metallica, AC/DC, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, etc.
But the 90’s… I don’t know, I guess since I grew up in the 90’s I’ll always love that decade. That was the last time that Saturday morning cartoons rocked! I hated getting up early for school every day during the week but when saturday morning came I was out of bed by 7 AM eating a bowl of Trix, Cookie Crisp, CoCoa Pebbles, etc. and watching TMNT, Looney Tunes, X-Men, Spider-Man, The Tick. Every friday night or most friday nights were spent in front of the TV watching TGIF. I used to love playing Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter on SNES those were two of my favorite games ever. How about old Nickelodeon shows? Clarissa Explains It All, Are You Afraid of the Dark?, My Brother and Me, Rocco’s Modern Life. Other cartoons that were great were Beavis & Butthead, The Simpsons and The Critic. Oh… and who remembers the Goosebumps books? Those were awesome.
Also, besides the grunge bands I also enjoyed other bands like Collective Soul, Counting Crows, Goo Goo Dolls, The Wallflowers, even Alanis Morissette… and Weird Al! I still love listening and laughing my ass off to Amish Paradise. Even kids movies back then were so much better than today, IMO. We had The Mighty Ducks, Heavyweights (which I own on DVD), Toy Story, etc.
Sure there were some problems in the 90’s but nothing like we have today and any problems there were I was too young to care about. The technology today is great but I feel more people (especially kids) are sitting in front of their computers or TVs playing videos games too much. I was just thinking this summer how many times I saw kids playing basketball in their driveways, hanging outside playing catch, playing baseball at the park, or even just riding bikes and it wasn’t a lot at all. When I was a kid that’s all I would do during the summer. I would stay outside from 9 or 10 in the morning until 9 or 10 at night. We didn’t have to worry about terrorist attacks constantly, there was no war (besides the very early 90’s), we had a pretty intelligent president in office (and I’m not a big supporter of Bill Clinton but I’d take him over Bush any day). The 90’s just seemed so much fun and a more calm decade.
I think that every decade had their highs and lows:
1960’s gave us The Beatles, easy sex, and LSD…
they also gave us the Partrige Family and made marijuana illegal
1970’s gave us Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc…
they also gave us Disco and bell-bottom jeans
1980’s gave us Rambo, Arnold, and Die Hard
they also gave us AIDS, the war on drugs, and Mr.T
1990’s gave us QUENTIN TARANTINO! They also gave us Pearl Jam and Bill Clinton…not to mention some really great movies. I liked the 90’s…but there was also Vanilla Ice, M.C. Hammer, La Macarena, and the Rodney King episode.
Every decade has its positives and negatives.

There were so many good kid movies in the 90’s, like: Home alone, Dutch, Mighty Ducks, Little Giants and so on.
Mighty Ducks SUCK!
