Tarantino to remake "36th Chamber Of Shaolin"
I hear he’s gonna go into hiding for 6 years and then come back and do a remake of E.T. Eddie Torez - The Extra Testicle
I thought Cheech n Chong were doing that?
what makes u the fucking expert?

Fucking Kill Bill isn’t a straight up Kung Fu movie, just like Pulp Fiction isn’t a straight up gangster movie. It has all sorts of shit going on. Maybe you didn’t know this, but Samurai Swords and fighting having nothing to do with Kung Fu…and it seems there’s more samurai sword action than kung fu…therfor how could he make ANOTHER straight up Kung Fu movie if he hasn’t ALREADY made a straight up Kung Fu movie?

And I think Tarantino will make this, if he was asked if he wanted to direct it…by the Shaw Brothers…I bet he’d be fucking honored to do that shit. I know I would.
Dont fuckin condescend to me Motherfucker. I dont need to be schooled on QTs films. I know plenty about it. And I stand by what I fuckin said, QT isnt going to do another what he calls a “Kung Fu” film right after he already did one. NO SHIT, theres also Japanese kenjutsu in it!! THATS MY FUCKIN POINT!! He combines alot of genres in his films (I just explained that a few posts back, oipen your eyes!), I highly doubt hes going to start doing a singular genre film like straight up Kung Fu, at least not right away. And hes definitely NOT gonna do one right after he finished a film with kung fu in it. Get a fuckin clue Motherfucker. Do some homework before you open your big trap next time.

Ha ha! How do you really feel Toothpick? Don’t hold back, now.

You gotta consider te source of any rumor you read, I don’t consider MonkeyPeaches a good source. If it was idependently confirmed, maybe, but it just doesn’t ring true. I don’t think QT knows for sure what the fuck he wants to do next. One interview it’s take a break for sex and drugs. Another interview he says maybe a Gialo or another crime film(fangoria). I read an interview with him about the Kill Bill DVD where it seems like he might shoot something small for inclusion on the eventual super DVD. The Miramax press release for Kill Bill says that he is on to start Inglorious Bastards in 2004. He’s all over the place. I don’t care what he chooses, as long as it’s not another 6 year break.

Im not saying hes never going to do another martial arts film, maybe he will someday. But if you know QT and how he operates, you can see a pattern. He doesnt do remakes of classic films, he does his own work. I HIGHLY doubt hes going to remake a film like 36Th Chamber of Shaolin simply because its such a classic already.

QT has said many times, since hes not going to be able to make all the movies he wants to make in his lifetime, hes always going to combine genres and styles that he loves into one film.

Dogs was a mix of French New Wave Crime, HK Crime films and American Crime films.

Pulp was a hybrid of "French New Wave Crime, Blaxploitation and a modern day Spaghetti Western"

Jackie was heavily influenced by Pam Griers Blaxploitation films and older Crime films.

Kill Bill is 30 Years of Grindhouse films in one film: Kung Fu, Samurai, Blaxploitation, Spaghetti Westerns, Gore films, etc etc etc.

If QT did do a remake of this film it wont be for a long long time. I just dont know why hed do it in the first place. It would be like him trying to remake Rio Bravo.

It would be like him trying to remake Rio Bravo.

It’s funny you mention that, because when he was at comic con he was musing about movies to remake shot for shot a la Van Sandt’s Psycho. Rio Bravo was one of the movies.

The funny thing about QT is that he is always musing aloud to reporters and other actors about what he wants to do for a movie. He may or may not ever get to any of those, though.

dude, Vic, you amaze me with your arrogance. First of all if ya wanna say Kill Bill and this 36th Chamber are close enough together that Tarantino wouldn’t do it after Kill Bill, well Mr. Contradiction you are a moron. Reservoir Dogs is a crime movie, and so is Pulp Fiction. Wa la.

You say Kill Bill and 36th Chamber are too close in genre for Tarantino to make 36th Chamber? Shut up.
