Sylvester Stallone (Rambo, Rocky Balboa) is in talks to direct and star in MGM’s remake of the 1974 Charles Bronson movie Death Wish.
Stallone will play an ordinary man who goes vigilante after his wife and daughter are attacked. Set to write the script are Michael Ferris and John Brancato, whose credits include Terminator 3: Rise of the Machiens and Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins.
Paramount Pictures controls some Death Wish rights and has an option to partner. Variety says MGM will make the film whether or not Par opts in, and if a writers strike is settled in short order, MGM will try to start production before March. Stallone’s partner, Kevin King, will be a producer.

I fucking hate Rocky and Stallone. I always thought Arnold was way better than him. C’mon I’ll chose Predator over Rambo any ol’ day. The only Stallone movie I kind of liked was the original Rambo, it has a sense of realism to it. But other than that I’m not a Stallone fan. Am I mispelling his last name? I don’t think so…
If your going to pick an ahnold movie that tops Rambo, It ain’t fucking Predator. If you would have said The Terminator or Total Recall I would have let it slide, but not fucking Predator.
The remake could work and in my opinion is a great idea but stallone as Paul are you kidding me?
I’m a fan of the Death Wish series (though I haven’t seen 2 and 5) and I ask myself this: How does this awesome vigilante story fit into this political correct PG-13 world of the Hollywood crap movies of today?

The only positive thing I can make from this is that Sly’s age fits into the Death Wish saga. (Bronson was also 60 when he made the first Death wish, and 73 when he made the last one.) He could play it with dignity.
Appearently movies need old actors to play action movies because the new action heroes are all a joke.
If there really are more revenge movies out there that are watchable, please tell me. I don’t go so the cinema very often these days and the last great revenge movie I saw in the theatres was the Kill Bills.
I love the original Death Wish films too, but its 2007. The vigilante/revenge thing has been done and redone then done again. Theres no point in Sly even doing this film. Thats the truth. I say Sly should pass on this one.
