Stupid Interview questions

Hi. I am Gwen. I saw an irritating interview today that was so stupid and I wanted to tell him how to reply the next time. Interviewer asked him if he felt bad when 12 yr old kids watch his movies and insinuating that the violence is effecting the kids.

Simply answer. Ask their parent/guardian/movie theatre because ALL his movies are rated R and 12 yr old kids should not be in ANY “R” movies period.

Hey Gwen

Totally agree with your take. The best response to that question is pointing out that the movies are rated R for a reason, and it’s up to parents, guardians, or theaters to enforce that. If kids are watching, that’s on the adults responsible, not the filmmaker. The rating system exists to guide appropriate viewing, so blaming the director for kids seeing content they shouldn’t isn’t fair at all.

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

I totally get where you’re coming from, Gwen. It’s frustrating when people try to blame actors for things that really come down to parental responsibility. I’ve had the same thought when I’ve seen kids in R-rated movies—like, it’s clearly not meant for them. The actor could’ve just said, “Hey, it’s rated R for a reason,” and pointed out that it’s up to the parents or the movie theater to make sure kids aren’t seeing stuff they shouldn’t.
