I just read an old Brian De Palma interview from 2002. This when Femme Fatale came out and Tarantino was making Kill Bill.
Now…
Brian De Palma is Tarantino’s favorite filmmaker. The interview mentions De Palma’s assistant whose name is Sophie. Add to that the second half of the title of the movie he was promoting at the time and you get "Sophie Fatale."
What do you think? Coincidence or not? I think not.
